It had been several weeks since Tai-lung had been defeated...And things were almost back to normal... "Alright everyone, stand respectfully! We must make a good impression on our new Shogun! That goes for you too Po! Snapped Master Shifu.

Needless to say, Tai-lungs escape and rampage had really shaken things up. The blame for the whole thing had been placed on the local Shogun. Who had now been dismissed and replaced by a new Lord.

Shifu had looked up this new Shogun. Born to a poor family; he quickly turned his family's half a mile dirt farm into the biggest trading and shipping company that China had ever seen.

It was later learned that he was the offshot of a long-thought wiped out noble family. Thus the Emperor himself granted him the title of Shogun.

Both his humble beginning's and philanthropic nature had earned him both the respect and love of the common people. And his progressive reforms had brought much peace and prosperity. Especially his financing and patronage of the arts.

Shifu nodded to himself. From everything Shifu had heard this man sounded like a reasonable, honest ruler...This might not be so bad...

Soon his carriage arrived at the Jade Palace. After much fanfare, a red cardinal stepped forth. Shifu and everyone else respectfully bowed. "You honor us with your presence lord Richelieu."

The reincarnation of France's greatest political mastermind smiled. "Oh, believe me my good man. The honor is all mine"...

This "rise of an empire" challenge was Inspired by Madhat886. A favorite author of mine! I don't care for how he portrays my faith, but I still recommend him!

AN: I know it says "in-progress" but really I just don't like boxing myself into a corner. For now this is more of a one-shot that I might continue one day...but probably won't.

But, hey. Feel free to use whatever elements you want from this, if you want! Or maybe give me ideas?
