Note from the Author: Well, I guess this is the more serious side (like the end/novel) of Welcome to the NHK. I was just sitting in the peaceful evening rain and suddenly I wrote this. I don't know how, I don't know why, and my poetry skills are still weak, but you know what? That's okay...I posted this for a friend (though not written for the same friend), but she wanted to read it, so here it is.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Welcome to the NHK or any of the characters, no matter how much I may want to...is this really needed for a poem?

Here I go again
Hearing voices in my head
But none of them are you
None of them can sound
Just the way you do

Now stand aside
It's my turn to jump
It's my turn to fly tonight
I don't need wings
I don't need the sky
Tonight I'll fly
Please let me fall tonight

There's something in your voice
In your eyes
In that empty smile
That pulls me from myself
Back to that reflection
As I stare into the mirror

This is the part
Where I step out of my shadow
This is the part
Where you take my hand
And I'll pull you back from the edge
I'll take you back
Back to reality
Back to harm- to keep you safe

Just stand aside
Let me jump
Let me fly tonight
I don't need your wings
I don't need your sky
Tonight I want to fly
Just let me fall tonight

Why am I crying now
When the tears
Never held me back before
What did you do
What have you done
What are these cravings
For an invisible sun
I was never accepted
Now you take me in
I don't understand, so
Today's the day I take my leap

Stand aside
Let me jump
I'm going to fly tonight
I have your wilting wings
I have the outline of a sky
And maybe tonight I'll fly

Tonight I fall, but I miss the ground
Tonight I fall
And you're the only one around
Tonight I fall
Tonight I fall
The only place I fall
Is in love with you
Tonight
