"Dad why can't you just accept that I love him!"
"Rose! Rose! Come back!" Hermione shouted after her daughter as she slammed the door. "Ronald Bilius Weasley what the hell is wrong with you!"
"He's a Malfoy Hermione! How could she fall for him of all people?" Ron yelled back.
"Merlin Ron! He's nothing like his father! He's different. Why can't you see past your hatred for Draco? Harry has! I have! It's time for you to grow up and see past his last name!" Hermione shouted, "What happened to you being an adult and accepting him?"
"That was when they were just friends! I don't want to be an adult anymore! And I definitely don't want to be related to a Malfoy!" Ron said looking disgusted.
"Ronald they are in love!"
"Yeah right! He probably just wants to fix the Malfoy name. He doesn't love her! I just don't want to see her get hurt!"
"Rose is a strong girl! She can take care of herself and if she says Scorpius really loves her then I believe her! Everyone in this family has accepted Scorpius so why can't you? "
"He's a Malfoy!"
"That's it I'm done. I'm going to go find her. You are going to sit here until you grow up and accept him as his own person. And when I bring her back you two are going to talk and you will listen to her!" And with that Hermione stormed upstairs
Ron sat glaring at the table, grumbling under his breath. Did they really expect him to just forget everything Malfoy did to them? Was he supposed to forget all the jokes about his family and all the mudbloods thrown at Hermione? Malfoy was a jerk and his son is the same.
"Dad." Ron could hear the pain in her voice. Did I really cause that? "Dad I really do love him. He's nothing like his father, he's kind and caring and very loyal. He would never hurt me."
"Rose you don't know that. I know the Malfoys; I know how terrible and cruel they can be. It's in their blood. All the Malfoys are the exact same, so why should I think Scorpius is any different?" Ron was annoyed that Rose wouldn't see the logic in the situation. Did she not trust him?
Rose was furious now, "I don't know Dad, why should you believe me. Clearly six years of friendship means nothing, I obviously know nothing about him!" Rose said sarcastically, "He's not his parents, why can't you see that? Do you not trust me? Do you not trust my judgment?"
"It's not you I don't trust, it's him!"
"Well whether you like it or not, I'm going to be with him! You can't stop me from seeing him." Rose stared defiantly back at her father, challenging him.
"Rosie, I just don't want you to get hurt."
"Well Scorpius isn't the one hurting me right now, you are. All I wanted was for my parents to trust me and support me in my first serious relationship. Clearly that's asking too much of you." Rose yelled and ran out if the room, slamming the door as she went.
Ron sighed, he hated hurting his daughter, but if hurting her protected her then he'd do it. At the end of the day it will have all been worth it.
