Chapter 1 The Mission

Sasuke had been back in the village for almost three years and life had begun to return to the way it was before the Uchiha left.

"We are finally going on our first mission as a team again!" Naruto yelled excitedly.

"Naruto would you keep it down your gunna scare away all the animals in the forest." Sakura said sighing.

"Dobe don't get so happy about it we're going on a D rank mission to save a cat again" Sasuke said while his eyes in annoyance.

Naruto looked to the two and smiled his big goofy grin before replying.

"I know! But this is our first mission together as a team again! And don't call me dobe, teme!"

"Why does that smile make me blush it's only baka Naruto…" Sasuke turned away and folded his arms, a ruse to help hide the slight dusting of pink on his cheeks, as he mumbled absentmindedly.

"What did you say?" Sakura and Naruto said simultaneously with a questionable look on there face

Just then they heard a branch brake in a tree from near by. Sasuke pulled out his katana while Sakura and Naruto pull out a kunai and turned to where the noise came from ready to attack the enemy when they noticed that the supposed "enemy" was their old teacher Kakashi Sensei.

"Woah woah no need to get so jumpy everyone!" Kakashi said with a surprised look on his face. "Sorry I'm late, I'm afraid I got lost on the path of life." Kakashi said with a happy look on his face.

"NOT THAT OLD FAKE EXCSUSE AGAIN!" Sakura and Naruto bellowed. While Sasuke just looked at him with an annoyed expression on his face.

"Okay guys this mission is simple. Tsunade wanted us to try an easy mission so we can learn to work together again" Kakashi started.

"But why do we have to do that old mission we did as kids? We know that its gunna be to easy for us its a D rank mission!" Sakura groaned in frustration.

"D-rank mission? Who told you that? This is an A-rank mission and is not the same mission you were given when you were younger." Kakashi said with a puzzled look on his face.

"Then what type of mission is it then?" Naruto asked with a puzzled look on there face.

"We are going to find a special cat. This cat is really a rogue ninja trying to sneak his way into the Hidden Leaf Village. We have heard that he plans to try to assassinate Lady Tsunade" Kakashi said.

"So...were looking for a cat that's really a rogue ninja that's trying to kill the old hag...?" Naruto said with a perplexed look still on his face.

"Dobe stop trying to think you're just going to hurt yourself." Sasuke smirked at the blond.

"WHAT WAS THAT TEME!" Naruto shouted angrily

"You heard me usuratonkachi or did I say too many big words for you?" Sasuke said with the smirk still gracing his lips.

"You wanna fight teme! I'll kick your ass to the Hidden Mist Village and back!" Naruto growled out, fuming with the Uchiha.

Sakura walked over to Naruto and hit him on the head with all her strength.

"Naruto behave yourself stop fighting with Sasuke kun" Sakura warned.

Kakashi just smiled and watched his team realized that they were whole again and it seemed that everyone was back to normal.

"We will start the mission when Captain Yamato and Sai get here. Then I shall explain the mission fully," Kakashi said.

"Do we really have to bring them with can't we do this mission with just us four were strong enough right guys!" Naruto whined as he looked between his team mates.

"Hn" Sasuke said.

"If Kakashi says we need everyone, then we need everyone!" Sakura muttered with a sigh.

"Fine then let the creep come with us." Naruto grumbled.

"You guys wait long?" Yamato asked as he landed on the branch next to Kakashi with Sai.

"Not too long" Replied Kakashi.

"Yeah, you only just got here a few minutes ago yourself Kakashi Sensei!" Sakura gritted out with an annoyed expression.

"Sorry for the wait everyone. Hello Sakura, Naruto and Sasuke" Sai said smiling. "I had to stop at the ninja shop to buy some more paint"

"Well, now that we're all done talking Kakashi! Tell us about our mission" Naruto griped.

"Yes yes Naruto I'll tell you all about it now. As I said before we're going to find a special cat, and this cat is really a rogue ninja trying to sneak his way into the Hidden Leaf Village to try and assassinate Lady Tsunade. The cat was last seen about 2 miles from here so we are going to split into teams and try to find him we will be using these ear pieces to talk to each other. Once you find the cat tell us through the mic. The description of the cat is said to be light brown with a black dot on its nose and its paws are white along with the end of its tail."

"So this rogue ninja looks almost like a normal domestic cat you would find in the village then?" Sai said.

"Yes almost but this cat will have orange eyes instead of a normal color or blue,green,brown or black. Now we will be going in groups of two. Sasuke and Naruto you will be team one Sakura and Yamato you are team two where as Sai and I will be team three." Kakashi relayed.

"What! Why do i have to be with Sasuke? Cant I go with Sakura or Captain Yamato?" The blond ninja complained.

"Dobe just shut up and lets go find the dumb cat." Sasuke glared at the Uzumaki.

"Teme don't tell me what to do!" Naruto snapped.

"Now now you two stop fighting. You're acting like a married couple." Sai said smiling

"Wha-WHAT! Sai have you gone mad I would never marry Sasuke! One he's a boy, and two, I hate him!" Naruto yelled at Sai.

"ENOUGH ALL OF YOU!" Yamato barked slightly infuriated with the nonsense. "Lets start the mission."

"Okay team one go west, team two go north and team three go east" Kakashi ordered before the groups split up going to find the mystery rogue ninja.

Naruto and Sasuke jumped from branch to branch for a while before spotting a cat that fit Kakashi's description... Or so they thought. Naruto swopped down to grab the cat only to get scratched and bit by the stray feline.

"OUCH!" The blond cried out. "That hurt you dumb cat!"

"Dobe make sure you look at the cat properly before you try to grab it. Make sure its not just a random stray and that it is instead the rogue ninja." Sasuke admonished as he stood next to the unhappy jinchuriki.

"Shut up teme I thought this was the stupid rogue ninja! I didn't see his eyes from that far away I don't have Sharingan like you do!" The blond bit back.

"Hn." Grunted the raven haired man and making a move to carry on their search.

They travelled on for what felt like hours only to find nothing. They decided to try to go North-West to see if the rogue ninja was hiding somewhere near by in that direction.

"This is too boring to be an A rank mission" Lamented the blond hair man.

"Shut up dobe and keep looking." The raven haired man retorted sharply.

"Don't call me dope teme!" The blond snapped back before continuing his search for the rouge kitty.
