Chapter 1. The Two girls Up the Mansion

"Ugh, where is he?" A young girl around the age of 17 wondered out loud, pacing around a room. "He was supposed to be here a half an hour ago!" Her pacing turned into stomping.

"Maya, he'll come, you don't have to worry about me." Another girl that looked exactly like her said, trying to calm her down. "Usopp always comes; he's too loyal, you know he won't desert me." "Well he's doing a lousy job of being loyal." Maya wrinkled her nose. "I'll bet he'd be late for his own funeral!" She shouted. "He'll come." The other girl assured her. Maya ignored her twin. "If that long-nosed idiot doesn't show up in five minutes, I'm going after him! And don't try to stop me, Kaya!" Kaya sighed and nodded.

Five minutes later

"THAT'S IT!" Maya shouted. "Hand me my hat, I'm about to teach Pinocchio a lesson!" Kaya looked at her, frightened. "P-Please don't hurt him; he's probably just doing something." Maya ignored her and took out a rubber band to tie her hair up in a ponytail; she walked into a closet and threw on a baseball cap with the word 'Pride' written in kanji. "Don't tell the butler where I am, alright?" She told her sister, and jumped out from the window next to her bed.

Kaya sighed; she had a more rational idea, "Klahadore? I want to see Usopp."

Maya walked into the tavern, to see the long-nosed idiot talking to a bunch of weirdos.

"USOPP!" She yelled, pounding her fist on the table in front of him, ruining everyone's food.

"My meat!" One of them shouted in devastation.

"What the hell!" Another man shouted.

"Usopp, who's this?" A girl asked.

Usopp looked up at Maya and smiled shakily, "Oh, h-hi Maya." Maya snorted at him, "Where have you been?" She shouted. Usopp looked at the other boy, who looked the same age as her. "Well, this pirate crew was just begging me to be their captain." He said proudly.

"Liar!" Everyone, including the other guys, shouted.

"Wait, did you say pirates?" Maya asked, getting a good look at them.

They certainly didn't look like pirates; one had mussed black hair and a weird straw hat lying on his head, a red unbuttoned vest, and jeaned shorts; which he surprisingly pulled off. Weird. She liked his scar though; which was right under his eye, as if he was stabbed.

The other seemed to be the only girl in the group, short orange hair, a striped shirt, and the dreaded miniskirt. Maya grimaced, if there was anything she absolutely positively hated in this world; that was miniskirts!

The last one looked more like a pirate compared to the others; slightly spiky green hair, a white T-Shirt, some sort of weird green thing on his stomach, and black pants, tinted with green. What's with him and green? Maya wondered, raising an eyebrow. She also noticed he had three swords strapped to his pants. What would he want with three swords? What does he do with the third one; Put it in his mouth? She mentally laughed at that.

She stared at them with a dumb expression, pirates?

"Are you just going to sit there and stare or are you going to leave?" The green-haired guy asked impatiently, making Maya instantly hate him.

She turned back to Usopp with a what the hell expression.

"I met them at the beach." He explained, "They were a bit hungry so I brought them here." So he wasn't ditching Kaya, he was just being a nice guy; Maya felt a bit guilty for making such quick assumptions. "Oh." She said, feeling like an idiot, "Uh…want me to go buy some more food?" She asked. "FOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!" Straw-Hat Kid shouted, pumping his fist. "I'll take that as a yes." Maya said with a sweatdrop.

"So you want to talk to Usopp again." A man with slick black hair, glasses, and a suit; said with a sigh, this was indeed Klahadore. "What's wrong with that? I just want to talk to him." Kaya insisted.

"No! How many times have I told you? He's the biggest liar in this village, talking to him would be a bad influence." Klahadore said.

"Petty! You let Maya talk to him!" Kaya pointed out.

"Maya is in perfect health and a rebel. Even if I did tell her she couldn't, she would just go and do whatever she pleased. And call me whatever you want, I am not changing my mind." He went to the table to make her medicine and continued, "Usopp's weird stories are just too exciting for a weak, young girl like you,"

"But I feel fine!"

"Please listen to me…when your parents passed away, they told me specifically to take care of you two. That's why I hired some guards; they're here to ensure your safety!"

Kaya looked at her hands and sighed, "Yes…I know."

"I'm glad you understand, I'll just put your medicine right here." Kaya nodded as he closed the door, "Okay…"

Maya sighed as she walked out the door with Usopp, leaving the three pirates in the tavern, "Kaya might be worrying…" She thought out loud. "Sorry I didn't get there sooner." Usopp said. "It's alright…sorry for getting the wrong impression and almost beating you to death." Usopp sweatdropped. "It's okay…"

They made it to the mansion, which was fully guarded, "Crap!" Maya muttered. "Guess we're going to have to sneak in."

"No worries, I still have my secret entrance." Usopp said with a proud smile. They snuck over to a bush; Usopp looked around and opened the bush!

"What the-! " She covered her mouth before she could blow their cover.

Kaya was busy moping on her bed about Klahadore when she heard a pebble hit her window, she smiled, knowing exactly who it was, and threw her windows open. "Usopp!"

"Hey Kaya, you got that depressed look on your face again." Usopp observed from his branch. Kaya smiled sadly, "I'm sorry, I'd love to let you in as a proper guest, but Klahadore won't allow it." She shook her head in resentment, "It's not like you're a bad person..."

"No worries, I wouldn't feel comfortable in there anyways, the somberness would suffocate me because I'm a pirate!"

Maya, who was standing right by the tree at the time, smiled lightly at the look on her sister's face as Usopp told her one of his many 'adventures'. She listened intently, the shadow of her cap covering her eyes to hide the tint of jealousy in them. Why, out of anyone in her eyes, is Usopp the only one who has the power to cheer up Kaya? No matter how many times she tried, Maya could never find that spark of interest that Kaya always had in her eyes when Usopp came? She even tried to tell one of those ridiculous stories that Usopp tells.

"Captaaaaain!" A little boy's voice cut through her train of thought.

She looked up to see the pirate crew from earlier and Usopp's small band of kids; or as Maya called them, the Veggie Trio. "Huh?" What are you all doing here?" "This guy wanted to talk to Miss Kaya." Pepper said, pointing at Luffy.

"Who's that, Usopp?" Kaya asked, not even sparing Maya a questioning glance.

"Oh! So you're the mistress?" Luffy said.

"Oh, these guys heard of my reputation, and traveled long and far to see me. They're the new editions of Usopp's Pirates!" "Yeah!" Luffy said, "No wait, that's not it!"

"Say…you look an awful lot like Maya, minus the tomboyish clothes." Nami observed. Kaya giggled while Maya responded, "Well she should; Kaya's my twin sister." Maya smirked at their expressions. "Oh! Twins!" Luffy laughed as if that was the funniest thing he's ever heard.

"Uh…is there a reason you came here or…" Usopp asked. "Oh! That's right!" Luffy turned to Kaya, "We have a request!" Kaya looked at him, perplexed, "A request? For me?" "Yeah! We need a big-"

"What are you doing here?" Klahadore came out of nowhere, "You can't just barge into mansions like this!" He said.

"Listen Klahadore, these people are just-"

"No need to explain, Miss Kaya, I will ask you later." The butler waved her off, "Please get out! Unless you have something to say…" Luffy grinned, "We need a big, sturdy ship!" Klahadore shook his head, "I can't help you there." He turned around and saw Usopp in the tree. "You…you're Usopp."

Kaya and Maya looked at each other in concern, already knowing this wasn't going to turn out alright.
