A/N: I decided to give the poetry thing another try. Tiva4evaxxx suggested a song that she was going to write a Tiva songfic for, and while listening to it, I came up with this, so all thanks go to her. It then became based off Tony's line in . . . I think it's 'Cloak'. Although I don't interpret that line as Tiva, for the purposes of this poem, it's handy to act like I do. So this is Tony's POV, and I'm done wittering . . .
Pretence
Can't you see I shouldn't love you?
Can't you see it isn't right?
I know that I should let you go,
But I can't let you out my sight.
This could be the ruin of both of us,
You know as well as I do,
Yet you're always looking at me,
Each time I look at you.
Don't you know that we can't do this?
Don't you know that this is wrong?
You must and yet you play these games,
And I can't help but play along.
The circles we run in exhaust me,
Nothing comes to its end,
I'm scared, you're unwilling,
You push and I bend,
I'm getting so tired of pretending,
Bored of the show we put on,
There are moments that we could stop,
We blink and then they're gone.
You see through all my lies,
My carefully crafted defence,
I see through your tough shell,
But we keep up the pretence.
Pretty please review.
