"Jacob please call in Bella" I called to the doorman in an annoyed tone. The tall boy walked out of the room and returned momentarily with the beautiful brunette I called mine. Bella was wearing what I had requested Alice to dress her in. The dark blue satin hugged her curves in the right places and showed off clevage without being obscene. The fabric puddled gracefully at her feet.
Jacob had his hand wrapped around her elbow as he pulled her swiftly to be in front of me. My father raised his eyebrows at this. Jacob stopped abrupty enough that Bella ran into him. Jacob recovered and shoved Bella to her knees in front of me. I glared at him when Bella had to put her hands on the ground to steady herself and Bella kept her head down looking at the ground.
I jumped up and glared at Jacob while I ran over to Bella. I crouched down and reached my hand out to Bella. My gaze softened at the sight of Bella's scared look. Bella took my outstretched hand and I helped her stand. Bella and I walked back to the chairs of the table where my father and mother sat.
I sat down and pulled Bella on my lap sideways. She leaned her side against my chest. I wrapped my arms around Bella's thin frame and stroked her hair.
"I'm sorry for whatever I did" Bella whispered in my ear. I turned my head to answer.
"I'm not upset with you. On the contrary, I very happy with you" I whispered back.
"Jake said you were angry."
"I will deal with Jake later. We are discussing hard times. It's usual to get a little upset. But not at you."
"Thank you for helping me up"
"I will always help a lady. It's not right to expect a lady to take care of herself."
"Unless the lady is Rosalie" she let out a quiet giggle.
A smile crossed my face as I agreed. Jasper, Alice, Emmett, and Rosalie entered momentarily.
"Would you like to rest on my lap or sit and talk with the other ladies by Jasper and Emmett?"
"I would like to stay here if it's not too much of a bother"
"My lady is never a bother" I whispered as I reached in and kissed her neck then tilted her head towards me and stole a kiss from her lips. Bella smiled in return and turned back to the side and curled her torso into me. I would never get enough of her small warm body.
