Prologue
Years after Selene and Michael defeated the Vampires and Lycans they moved away from the place that held many bad memories for them.
They moved to L.A in search of getting away from the covenant.
Soon, the both settled down and got down to business.
In L.A there were both vampires and Lycans trying to take Selene and Michael as their mates: Selene the first full vampire to be able to walk in sunlight and Michael the first ever highbred.

9 months later Selene gave birth to their first child. A girl called Samantha.
This baby was to grow up and keep the war that had been waging on for centuries at bay.
Selene and Michael tried to make a normal life for their child as much a possible.
Michael went back into the medical business. Selene stayed at home not trusting anyone with the baby just in case.
Even at a young age, Samantha showed all her abilities. She learned to walk much quicker and her speech was more advanced. It would take up until her 18th birthday for the true potential of her blood to show through.

We go forward to when Samantha is 11 years old. Selene started to notice that Michael started to want more and more from the 'bedroom' department.
She did a search and was quite shocked at what she found.
Male Lycans go through what they like to call a mating cycle.
This is when the female Lycan or Vampire gives of certain Pheromones that attract the male gender.
These pheromones go on for about a week and gets stronger.
If a female was to mate this would cause the male to become even more protective of his female counter part.
Vampires and Lycans are advised to keep all female and male of different species away from each other during this time.
Selene decided to ignore the information and see for herself.
Sure enough as time went on Michael did become more and more protective of her. As Samantha grew and filed out, Michael started to grow protective of her.
Selene moved them again. This time to a more secluded place where they would make it easier for Sam to grow up and find out her abilities

Soon Samantha turned 18 and started going out at night into the neighbourhood.
Her parents did not tell her off the mating cycle because she was trained to sense a vampire or Lycan. This is because then she could stay away from them.
Samantha followed this rule, until one night where it would possibly cost her, her life.
