Knocking on heaven's door

Knocking on heaven's door

By

Clueless phantom

Mrs. Jones POV

Mama, take this badge off of me
I can't use it anymore.
It's gettin' dark, too dark for me to see
I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

Hospitals; they always make me nervous. I'm sitting in the lobby waiting for what ever news they doctors tell me. It's not a matter of whether Alex will live or die, but of how long he'll live.

It was only a week ago when Alex was riding in his friend's car the driver was a little drunk. And they crashed into another car.

Now I'm here with his new girlfriend/fellow agent Yuki waiting for news trying to consol her.

Alex opens his eyes and says to me, "take my badge and get rid of it. I won't need it any more. It's getting dark but you shouldn't worry I see my mum and dad and Ian."

Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door

Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

My eyes swell up with tears as he weakly points to his gun that Smithers gave him a few months ago on his 18th birthday and say "I want you to bury it, after all won't shoot the gun ever again."

He reaches up and strokes Yuki's cheek. "Good by, Yuki. I know it sounds stupid but I feel like I'm knocking on heaven's door."

He closed his eyes and looked truly at peace at last.

Even now three years later, I feel like I've learned more from the young man than any teacher could teach me.

Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door
