Koanita- okay so this is the first time i tried writing, or more like showing a sonic the hedgehog fanfiction. Just one out of the dozen i found when i moved along with some rescentish yet still old shaman king fanfics. I read over it and still loved this one as much as i did then. figured if i wrote it updated it might be able to interest others. who knows? anyway here it is.
Disclaimer- i own nothing in rights to sonic the hedgehog or the characters, my made ups- yes. but as usual without the game and cartoon even they wouldn't of been made up.
Authors note- this is rated M due to the following: violent content, angst, mention of suicide, language and of course possible sexual content. Some of these may seem as heavy themes...but so is life. I will try not to make it too disturbing. Oc's - Lectrix, Dare, and Nightshade- they make up a team. This is mostly in the cartoon/anime series world, however I will have mentions, as well use of anti versions of the characters in this, but only them. (mostly because this will deal with different dimensions, and thus i feel as though they would fit in well with the story.) Please Review
Dimensional Chaos
Prologue
Unknown POV
She set alone on the cool sand of Emerald Beach, basking under the glow of the luminescence orb above. Not even the moons beauty or the contact of freezing water coming and receding from the ocean could no settle her mind into a calm tide itself. So much was running through her head. Hikari no senshi ga mata takamare ni naru. 'The warriors of light will rise again' She sighed. That is what the prophecy had said, or at least what Lex had claimed during the last battle...the thought of those words stirred a deep confusion inside her as well making her head throb until she left them alone. Something wasn't right. It was as if she was forgetting something but she could not recall, and from what the her companion as well her father said...it was the after affects of them trying to hypnotize and confuse her.
For a moment her mind flashed however to scenes in her dreams, to a family and then the rag-tag one they had spoken of. Was...that all that was? Just dreams...were they lying to her? Or was it her father who was? Who knew...all that she knew really was, no matter who was right- she owed her life to the man who called her daughter, she had been betrayed from what fragmented memory's showed her...and more importantly she had a job to do. I shall not waver: rather it be in fear or doubt, or even death itself. It had been her motto, when she had been a child and was of another world...that much she did recall: her older brother, a fragmented image of her mother came to mind, and then...she was here in this world.
How had she forgotten? Finally part of her memory was returning...of a place Dare had told her of. But, he was one of the people who, if father was correct, had back stabbed her. Yet who was she to judge? She rubbed her temples as she felt her peace more muddled. Although she was remembering slowly parts of her memory, other areas of ones were stripped away as if they were and after thought blocking the other...and putting small holes in time tines of what she had known as her past, of what her father had even evidence of...
Why was she thinking of any of this? Why...was she beginning to doubt her fathers words, the videos, the photos, the memories she could only of vaguely recalled but now...faded? Had they really gotten to her that badly? She wouldn't be surprised if her father was lying...but her companion had no reason: more so among the memories of her old missions with the others, she found evidence that she could trust his word. So she did; but her heart wavered on fallowing the mission father asked of her, a cold shiver and sickness in her soul at the idea of hurting someone: who despite everything had managed to win over her heart and now grasped it with guilt without trying.
If it wasn't for him, the secret artifact of her hidden affections, the mission would have gone far smoother then what it had so far. She looked past the moon and into the vast, starry expansion of the universe, trying to remember her homeland, where the beaches where just as beautiful as this, and she thought of the many nights where she would sit alone, starring at the Gemini moons. She sighed again closing her eyes in wonder, she had to fulfill her the mission. Never once had she with-held or delayed...but some how she felt she would lose everything by carrying this task, of her dear fathers, out. She would not cry nor would she show doubt...she would do it. The shard on her necklace singed her again as did her own soul at the thought...this stupid item she could not remove, as if it was apart of her very body and tied deeply to her...and perhaps it was, for it ebbed with her emotions often and seemed more deeply in-tune with her then anyone else bearing them. She shook her head from that though. This shard and thoughts only reminded her more of her turmoil.
And in all it couldn't be stopped- even if it meant destroying her world, her very heart.
He should have kept his world from her
she should have kept her heart from him
He shouldn't of been there...
She shouldn't have searched for him
He should have kept his glances and embrace
She should have kept her lips away.
should of, would of, could of- she was in deeper then allowed. He was her target, for him and her- resistance was beyond futile.
There was a crunching of leaves behind her as the wind blew bringing the scent of her comrade...who was more then displeased with how she had ended up as such, actually he had been beyond livid when realization had hit home. Yet it wasn't as if she had chose it intentionally, nor had she expected it. There was just something that had drew her in and captivated her fully from the second she laid eyes on there enemy. Also, rather he knew it or not...there was also something about the whole situation with him that felt wrong, and even more so morbid, almost more then laden with a bitter poison she could not recall that sent her reeling until a wall remained unintentionally built. He had and still did strive to move past it...yet she felt as though if in another time it would of never existed: yet even so she would of fallen for the enemy over her comrade...as they fit, completed and mended each other from the beginning although she could explain why.
Meanwhile
The red echidna remained on his island, constantly thinking of her. He knew how he felt, though he'd never admit to it.
It all began with the death of his pride,
then came emotions and soon he found himself falling in love with the enemy.
He hadn't known that's what she was at first.
Nor that he had an opponent for her heart.
Even more shocking, was who it was.
But now it was over,
that little struggle at least...but he was now torn between his job, the only thing left of his people and the love he had for her. He felt disgusted primarily with himself. "How could I have let this happen..?" He asked himself over and over while he set beside of the shattered Master Emerald, holding the shards in his palms as tears fell from his face. He could put it back together, but he couldn't put his heart as well that way. When she came tonight, it would be gone. Her mission failed. And to say goodbye, but why? She had no want of power or for it...so why would she follow such a mission? A snap was heard behind him, and he turned to see Sonic. "Damn, you already...choose?" He sighed. "I was hopping I could tell you in time, there maybe away to not give up either."
He laughed. He felt as if he was crazy, in relief and at the same time knowing it was impossible. "And how the hell do you suppose to do that?" Sonic smirked. "Easy we give her back her life." He shook his head and turned away, "She already has it. Don't patronize me." Sonic sighed. "No, what she has is the false memories implanted there...her life from the second she was born he's stripped away from her." He stated simply, pausing only to find Knuckles would not look back at him, nor did he budge. With another sigh Sonic spoke, knowing he had no more time to prepare his friend or make him understand. "Rather you want to or not tonight you'll see what i mean. I warn you however, will have to deal with Scourge, and he won't be happy. Shadow, Dare, and Lectrix are already setting it up...So the wheels are in motion. Make up your mind." And with that he left in a blue blur leaving the echidna to be alone, in his seeming half crazed moment. He gritted his teeth, as he looked up still holding the shattered pieces. "And i almost want to believe...lies. All fucking lies."
