This is a sad Lancitty fic because i heard the song and was like awwwww cute! so anyway R&R!

P.S u may cry because i did when i was writing it but maybe i'm just a wimp!

It was snowing lightly, topping off the blanket of crisp white snow already on the ground. Kitty sat in a small clearing in the centre of some trees in the park, on a cold stone bench. She had called Lance and told him she needed to talk to him. She had been waiting for today since she called him 2 weeks ago but he was with Shield and couldn't get away till now, Christmas eve. She didn't want to do this on christmas eve but she had to. He was never around so how could she date him?
"Kitten?"
Lance appeared wrapped up warm making her feel foolish for her thin pink jumper and thin cargo pants. She shivered and he placed his thick fleece around her.
"What's wrong?"
"Don't you think there's something wrong when I have to make an appointment to see you Lance?"
"Kitten I know you don't like it but it can't be helped, with Trask and anti-mutant organisations."
"You said we'd get married!"
"How could we marry now? There's not a place we would be safe outside the institute or shield!"
"So you said last year." Kitty stood as he sat down beside her. She looked into the trees with guilty eyes, her skin pale and cold.
"Kitty. I love you-"
"You did..." She turned round and looked at him with her big blue eyes, her hair down and swirling round her face making her look ethereal. "Once."
"Kitty-"

"There was a time when I was sure

And would never come undone"

She got a dreamy look on her face and Lance walked over to her wiping away a snowflake on her cheek. Kitty looked at him and touched his face lightly.

"And we came so close to being close
And Though you cared for me"

She looked down guiltily.

She moved away from him and made her way threw trees, him following.

She smiled and her fingers danced over an engraving in a tree "Lance A. Loves Kitty P. Always" inside a love heart.

She gestures to the badge on the fleece she's wearing that is the shield crest on it.

"Be careful or you may regret
The choice you make someday"

A tear seeped out from under her dark lashes as she closed her eyes for a moment.

Lance had tears running down his cheeks and Kitty reached up to wipe them away gently with her pink gloved hand.

"It was almost love

Kitty pressed her head to Lances chest just to hear his heart beat one last time.

"And yes, some dreams come true

She kissed her finger tips and pressed them to Lances lips looking him in the eyes.

"Yes, some dreams come true

She looked down tears spilling out from under her lashes whispered one last word to him before running threw the trees. The word was only just caught by him before the wind blew it away forever.
"Sorry."
