Only Sadness

Rubeus Hagrid's POV
I step over the rubble to the toddler's crib, his arms are outstretched to the sky, tears drying on his face as he mumble's incoherently at the Dark Mark above him. James and Lily Potter lay dead on the floor.
He has been here

I stand beside Remus Lupin and I sniff loudly as we watch our brothers and sisters being placed into their shallow graves.
I look beside me again, searching Remus and I see no bravery in his eyes any more, only sadness.

Ronald Weasley's POV
The houses burn beyond repair around me, the smell of death clings to the air thickly as my mother weeps in despair; he arms wrapped around George.
That ugly great skull and serpent lights up the sky, indicating that it's another families' time to die; not just literally, but with Fred's death, we've all died inside.
Ginny steps forward and places a hand on mum's shoulder, she opens her mouth, closes it and tries again.
'He has been here…' she says, 'the only thing we can do is avenge him.' Mum weeps become more hysterical.
I turn to George and I see no bravery in his eyes any more, only sadness.

Hermione Granger's POV
There are cries throughout Hogwarts Castle as the cackles of evil echoes through the windows.
Dumbledore's Army raise their wands to the sky and tears dry on my face.
No one asks 'why'. No one says 'but he was the Chosen One!'
Men, women and children kneel and seem to decide their fate: death.
No one believes that he could have survived, no one believes in taking revenge for Harry Potter's life.
It's almost like a nightmare when Ginny drops to the floor screaming, she throws her wand and Mrs. Weasley comforts her, tears on her face.
A whole generation drenched in hate and pain because He is here – because He has been here for so long.
My eyes land on Ron and his shoulders slump as his eyes meet mine; and I see no bravery in his eyes any more, only sadness.

A/N.
I was listening to James Blunt's song No Bravery and the lyrics reminded me too much of Lord Voldamort, so I had to write this short fic because it wouldn't leave me alone.
Sorry that it's so depressing!
