To be fair, it wasn't as if anyone was supposed to suspect them. Kurt was gay after all and it wasn't as if Mercedes didn't appear to be going after someone every now and then.
But still.
Little things added up: the kiss on the cheek making her smile wider than ever, them holding hands at the oddest moments to just the knowing, more than in-the-know looks they shared at times.
Surprisingly, it wasn't Quinn (who thought the matching bracelets were weird) or Artie (who had seen them leaning rather close once though he'd suspected it was plotting a makeover again) who caught on.
It was Brittany.
All it took was a very tense session (mainly made of Jesse St. James and Rachel giving each other the eyes across the room and Finn fuming not-quite-silently) before Mr. Schue called a break.
As usual, Kurt and Mercedes had sequestered off into a corner and Santana commented, "I'm surprised he isn't all over Finn about now."
Brittany had frowned. "But wouldn't that be cheating?"
Santana rolled her eyes. "On who? He's not dating anyone and it's not like--"
"Yes he is," Brittany interrupted, Santana preparing for an undoubtedly stupid and endearing comment. Not: "He's been dating Mercedes for, well, ever."
"Brittany, Kurt's gay. He's a dolphin, not a shark," Santana rolled her eyes, not catching Tina's sudden side look to the two.
...now that Brittany mentioned it, they did look, like well.

Maybe not you're typical one, but as Kurt loped his arm around Mercedes and she leaned into him, they looked picture perfect.
