Finding Forgiveness

Within hours of being pulled from the frigid waters of the reservoir, Castiel was sneezing and feverish - proving angels weren't immune to flu.

Dean busied himself dosing Cas with painkillers that didn't make a difference and cold compresses and soup that did.

It reminded him of caring for Sammy during their childhood and in a moment of non-thinking instinct he ruffled the slumbering angel's hair and laid a chaste kiss on his head.

Something relaxed in Cas and he sighed, a tear rolling down his cheek. "Thank you, Father," he whispered, half-asleep.

The light around him glowed a little brighter.

Not to be Sneezed at

Dean looked at his brother with a wide-eyed expression as an unspoken agreement passed between them, We go down fighting.

"ATCHOO!"

The brothers ducked their heads and covered their ears in reflex at the deafening, booming sound that rolled like apocalyptic thunder.

Dean watched dumbstruck as a familiar, tan-coated figure hurtled uncontrollably through the air and collided with the half-dozen closing vamps, accidentally sending heads flying in all directions.

"How'd you manage to get here so quickly?" asked a grateful Sam, he'd been certain they were going to die.

"Flu," snuffled the angel in misery.

"Bless you," replied Dean weakly.
