The snow was falling, spreading around him. He slowly began to twirrl around in the snow, his dark gray hair swishing slightly, his eyes closed, his hands raised, as if he were dancing in a ballroom with someone invisible. His white trench coat swirrled with his movements around his knees, his jeans were starting to get soaked near the bottom from the snow on the side walk.
Yukito Tsukishiro was dancing on the sidewalks in the park on a nice wintery day. It was Christmas, so his best friend was probably with his family, enjoying a warm fire and friendly, warm emotions, whilst no one spent time with Yuki, as he had no parents.
Touya Kinimoto stood still, watching this angel on his route through the snow. His eyes were wide with shock. He was suddenly seeing his best friend in a different light. He was seeing Yuki, his best friend, somewhat beautiful, with the snow falling around him and his body moving to the rythm of imaginary music. He felt a warmth in his cheeks that had nothing to do with the cold air on his warm skin.
Touya, with his lightning reflexes, joined Yuki as his dance partner.
One warm hand took Yuki's cold one and a warm arm wrapped around his waist, drawing him closer.
Yukito's vision was of Touya dancing with him, so when he opened his eyes to see that vision was a reality, he almost fell back. He stopped dancing and felt Touya's warmth. "T-Touya-kun?"
"Yuki-chan," he said, teasingly. "Why're you dancing in the snow? It's cold out here, and you might catch one."
"I-I w-was, um..."
"Dancing?"
"Uh-huh." Yuki flushed and looked away from Touya's face and slowly began to tug away, which Touya's strength wouldn't let happen. "Ah! Touya-kun!"
Touya felt his body move without his notice. He was leaning down to kiss Yukito, his eyes sliding closed, feeling Yuki's warm breath as it softly blew against his face. He felt his lips begin to press against Yuki's, his mind whirrling aroundthe moment.
Yukito, on the other hand was in reality, his eyes filling with tears that fell down his pale cheeks as he felt his heart break. With Yue, this would mean that Touya must find it akward to be with him, but for Touya to kiss someone who felt like they didn't belong in his arms broke Yuki's heart. Touya didn't really love him... did he? For the moment, Yuki just wanted to stay in that moment, like that forever.
---some time later---
"Yuki-kun?" Touya's sweet voice came into Yuki's reality.
"Ah! Touya-kun!" Yuki realized he was laying in the grass with a book lying on his chest and the soft breeze of spring washing over him. "Did I fall asleep again?" He looked inoccently up at Touya.
"Yuki-kun... you're always sleeping. C'mon, we have to go find the little monster." Touya held out his hand.
A breeze swept past at that moment, throwing Yukito back to the snowy Christmas they spent dancing out there until Sakura came to find them, Touya's hair was blowing about, he was holding his hand out to Yuki, who'd fallen into a pile of snow when he'd lost his balance, the moment was repeated, even in the light of spring and her turning to summer. He smiled and took Touya's hand. "Ok, but she'll be mad when she finds out you called her 'monster'."
"Party-pooper." Touya said this with a pout.
"Who said I wanted to tell her?" Yuki said with a laugh as they made their way down from the hill just beyond the sidewalk of the park where they dance... Once upon a Christmas Day.
