Diana reached over and placed her hand over his. "Martin, I'm sure dad is proud of you. If it helps any, I'm proud of you."

Martin looked at Diana, surprised. "Huh? You're proud of me? For what?"

"Well, you're brave. You're a fast thinker when it really counts. And despite your immaturity, you do put others safety ahead of your own." She paused in thought for a moment.
