A one-shot closure to my previous story The Isle Life
Mal's POV
Watching Max my smile widens. Ben walks up behind me and wraps his arms around my waist. "To what," he asks. "Do I owe the pleasure of such a big smile." That causes me to giggle slightly and Ben mocks a shocked face. I gesture to Max.
"Look at him. He's so happy." We watch as Max picks a flower and puts it in a girls black hair. He started dating Alain, daughter of Princess Jasmine and Prince Aladdin, a couple of days ago and Ben and I think that its one of the reasons he choose good. She seems like she is a part of him just like Ben has become a part of me. He starts to chase her around the tree while trying to tickle her. He finally catches her and they both fall on the grass laughing.
Off in the distance I see Jay talking to Audrey. He confessed to liking her and they started dating. Ever since then she has been bent on learning everything she can about the Isle. Jay spends as much time telling her about it and we all try to help. But there is only so much we can take, reliving memories. The others learn along with Audrey. I cry the most. Sixteen years of pent up tears were waiting for the dam to crack and when it finally did even thinking of the Isle made her start to cry. But Ben was always there just as eager to learn as Audrey and always willing to wipe up Mals tears after. Lonnie, Chad, and Jane were always there as well. Chad had gotten his act together and stopped acting like a jerk. Jay, Carlos, Max, Ben, Carlos, and Chad had become the best of friends while us girls had gotten close as well.
I see Jay cup Audreys cheek in his hand then she lays her head forward against his chest as Jay tries to comfort her. He probably told her another thing that had happened on the Isle. One of the harder ones most likely.
As I look around I see Doug and Evie. Doug puts a tiara on Evies head and she smiles and tries to hold back tears. He says something to her and she nods her head. He wraps her in a hug and kisses the top of her head.
Last but not least Carlos and Jane. He kisses her softly then wipes a tear from her cheek. They got together a few days after the incident.
"I never thought this was possible." I whisper to Ben. "To be happy. But look, all of us are finally happy." Everyone comes over to us to say the final goodbyes. It's officially summer time and the five of us will be staying at the palace while the others go home to there families and Ben goes on a trip through Auradon. We will spend the first half of summer apart and then all get together for a month to go meet the families of our boyfriend or girlfriend. Then we will spend a month all together before heading back to Auradon Prep.
Ben puts his head near my ear and whispers, "I love you so much. I didn't think that we would make it this far when Max was trying to kill us for the second time. I'm glad you're happy." He puts his hand out in front us and in it sits a velvet box. In the box sits a ring with a green emerald, my birth stone, and a red ruby, Bens birth stone, entangled by gold vines. I turn to look at him, surprise on my face."I know we're still in high school but I love you more then anything. Will you marry me, will you be my Queen?" I nod my head. Evie shrieks and Max gives Ben the brotherly, If You Hurt My Sister I Will Kill You, talk as everyone else surrounds us and congratulates us.
I can't wait for the years to come. I know that no matter what nothing will make me go back to...
