Chapter One

This is a book about a girl who is being smuggled into another country. He is about five in the first chapter and is a very scared character. I hope you enjoy it.

She lay with her eyes squeezed tight shut. Emily sat crunched up, knees to her chest and head down. She could hear her heart beating faster and faster. She wanted to scream but she knew not to, she wanted to bang down the sides of the crate yet knew she should not. So she sat, tears in her eyes, and waited.

Emily couldn't understand why her parent had forced her into this tiny crate and why she couldn't talk. She didn't understand why she had to on her own or not tell anybody about her going away. Her biggest wonder was where she was going; for as she knew nothing of countries, her parents had just told her it was somewhere far away.

A horn sounded outside and she heard the sea around her… The boat was moving! She almost relieved as now she knew how long it would be until she could come out of the box. She set her timer to 75 hours and drank some water from her bottle.

It was bumpy those few nights she spent at sea and she threw up quite a bit, but as her parents had told her to, she drank plenty of water. She looked at her timer, less than 2 hours and the light crept into the crate. She had no idea of the exact time but she could guess it as probably late afternoon.

She held on tightly as her crate was lifted to the ground. She then got put into a lorry which took her about half an hour to a farm in the middle of nowhere. Her crate was dumped onto the floor and she felt relieved for she knew she would be able to get out soon and as the thought went through her head of being able to stretch her legs her crate was opened and above her was an elderly man. The man who would later introduce himself as tim.
