My Dearest Student, Twilight,
In my one thousand years of rule, even I have not been without my errors. I am just as fallible as any other pony in Equestria. I'm not sure how you feel about the way your warnings about Queen Chrysalis were largely ignored before your brother's wedding, but I'm writing to you to express how deeply sorry I am for not trusting you. For years, I have proudly called you my most faithful student, yet when it mattered most, I did not have any faith in you.
But even though I failed you, you did not fail me, and much more importantly, you did not fail Equestria. So the time has come for me to learn a lesson of friendship. Indeed, Twilight, there are times when the teacher can learn something from the student.
Just as I hope you can forgive me, my most faithful student, I hope you can bring yourself to forgive your friends. As close as you six are, I'm sure you may already have.
Twilight, this is a mistake that I will try my hardest to ensure is not made again. We were all so caught up in planning the wedding that we didn't notice what you did about Queen Chrysalis. We were fully aware of a threat against Canterlot, yet we ignored suspicions from one of the ponies that I trust the most.

P.S. - Seeing as how these things happen out of the blue most of the time, maybe the six of you should just keep the Elements of Harmony with you at all times. I really don't understand why I keep them locked in that vault anyway.
