"They're just a pair of dice," John remarked flatly, but as soon as he'd said it he knew it was a mistake. She leveled a stare at him take made his insides wobble for a moment, and not in a good way. He held his hands up to placate her, but she just rolled her eyes.
"They were my lucky dice," she bit out.
John sighed. "Even so, that wasn't a good reason to trip that little kid."
She held the dice in front of his face with a satisfied smirk. "It worked, didn't it?"
