Snape opened his eyes. He was in a white room and mist was curling around him. He noticed he was naked, and he longed for his black robes he so often wore around Hogwarts. No sooner had he thought this, they appeared, piled up not far away from where he was standing. Snape pulled them on gratefully.

"Well done Severus, I trust you gave the boy everything he needs to know?"

He turned to see Dumbledore standing behind him, smiling.

"The snake still lives, and the Dark Lord is keeping Nagini very close. I do not see how the boy will kill it before he must die too." Snape said, almost coldly.

Dumbledore chuckled softly. "You have little faith in the boy, I however, know that Harry will find a way."

"It seems that we will not find out though, will we?" and Snape guestured towards their surroundings.

"Do not let a simple obstacle like death get in the way, old friend." Dumbledore said, smiling still. "We are not going to have died in vain, nor anyone who passed on during the battle. Harry will make sure of that. I do believe that Fred Weasley is among the departed. They have all moved on Severus, and you should do the same."

"What will you do Dumbledore?" asked Snape, ignoring what Dumbledore had said about moving on.

"I must wait for Harry." Came his reply. Dumbledore was smiling serenely and started humming softly to himself. He walked around for a bit and was surprised to see Snape following him, "Shouldn't you be going Severus?" inquired Dumbledore. Snape hesitated. How? He thought to himself. Dumbledore, it seemed, had heard this and he said, "Which ever way you want too, but perhaps choose the most prominent memory you have." And with that, he stepped into the mist, and vanished from sight.

Most prominent memory? Thought Snape and he thought more, delving into his own memories. Closing his eyes he thought and, when he opened them, he was staring into a mirror. This was no ordinary mirror though, it was the Mirror of Erised. Severus Snape looked into the mirror and he saw himself and… Lily Evans, the girl of his dreams. She was linking her hand in his, Snape found himself drawing ever closer towards the mirror, taking in her appearance. He reached out a hand to touch the mirror, stumbled on his robes, and fell face first into the mirror. The mirror did not break, and Snape found himself falling, spinning passed memories of a small redheaded girl and himself. The memories shattered, small sharp looking pieces flying everywhere. Snape closed his eyes tight, and something poked him in the ribs. He opened his eyes and found a little redheaded girl, no older than three, staring at him. Her beetle black eyes blinked at him. "Mummy says pancakes are ready now." She said in a small voice.

He blinked again, hoping it was real. The girl was still there staring at him. She had not disappeared, or shattered like any of the previous memories, and Severus Snape smiled, more genuinely than he ever had since the night Lily Potter had died. He was moving on.

Like it? This is just a one shot thing, so yep. I was reading deathly hallows again and I just thought… what about Snape? Did he go into a white room too? And what happened after? Well this is what I think, but what about you?

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Harry potter, J.K. Rowling does. But if I did, Fed would have never died. Just saying.
