Just a quick fanfiction based off what I consider to be a loose end in Into Darkness.

What he was about to do was necessary. This is what he told himself as he hacked the security cameras.

He could not allow such evil to continue to exist. This was the rationalization he used as he slipped on to the classified Star Fleet storage base located near Las Vegas, Nevada.

Depending on one's belief, death would be preferable to an eternity in a cryogenic state. He recalled this as he entered the reinforced warehouse.

Humans were historically forgetful. Eventually, someone would awaken them with the foolish thought that they could control them. It may not be this generation, or even the next, but it would happen. Of this he was certain. It was logical to prevent future calamities when possible. He acknowledged this as he found the right pod.

73 deaths of men and women who should have already been dead in order to prevent, by his calculations, at least 5,683 future deaths. After all the needs of the many out way the needs of the few.

He did not try to quantify or even fully examine the satisfaction he felt as he listened to the pods depressurize, killing their occupants.

He could not give a name to the dark, heavy, yet pleasing emotion he felt as he watched Khan, unable to wake up or escape, jerk and gasp for oxygen that was no longer there.

When it was done, he calmly walked out of the warehouse and locked the door behind him. He left the base and fixed the cameras. When the bodies are eventually discovered, the deaths will be chalked up to a computer malfunction.

Spock was never fond of hospital. Hospitals meant harsh lights, the smell of bleach burning his nose, and in his experience, being turned into a science experiment. He had spent far too much time in a hospital in recent days.

He enter the private hospital room where Jim, his Captain, his friend, his brother, laid lifelessly on the bed. He regretted none of his recent actions.
