Here is the first "Jack and the Pack" rewrite, entitled "A Visit from Thomas" Enjoy and comment.

It was a beautiful sunny day on the Island of Sodor, and Thomas was taking Sir Topham Hatt to the site of a new school that was set to be built on Sodor.

Sir Topham Hatt had donated the land for the school to be built.

The Pack were all busy working on the site when Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt arrived.

"A school is the perfect choice for this land." said Sir Topham Hatt proudly.

"Let me show you the soccer field!" said Miss Jenny.

Buster was rolling the ground flat for the soccer field, and was enjoying it very much.

"The soccer field is going to look perfect!" said Miss Jenny.

"Indeed." said Sir Topham Hatt.

Meanwhile, Alfie was digging the foundation for the school library.

"It is going to be a splendid library!" said Miss Jenny.

"I agree." said Sir Topham Hatt.

Miss Jenny then took Sir Topham Hatt over to the site of the swimming pool.

"Oliver must dig carefully, since a swimming pool must have straight sides." explained Miss Jenny.

"Of course." said Sir Topham Hatt.

Sir Topham Hatt was impressed.

Soon, it was time for Sir Topham Hatt to leave.

He waved goodbye to Miss Jenny, and set off on-board Thomas.

Back at the school-site, Max was being impatient.

"Hurry up!" he growled.

Oliver hated being hurried. He was determined to dig carefully.

Suddenly, his bucket hit something hard.

He slowly scraped the dirt away, and he saw something unusual.

"I found something!" cried Oliver. "Look!"

"Rubbish!" groaned Max.

"But it might be important!" said Oliver's operator.

"I'll call Miss Jenny right away!" said the foreman.

Miss Jenny arrived in no time, and was amazed at what Oliver had found.

She immediately called Sir Topham Hatt.

Like Miss Jenny, he too was amazed, so he called in some experts from the Sodor Museum.

The experts were impressed.

"Amazing find!" said one of the experts. "This is a dinosaur fossil."

"What's a fossil?" asked Ned.

"A fossil is a bone from an animal from long ago." explained Miss Jenny. "Dinosaurs lived long ago, and their bones are all that are left."

"Well Oliver." said the other expert. "I think there are more fossils around here. Can you dig some more for us?"

"Yes sir!" beamed Oliver. He was excited.

Soon, the experts blocked off the area, and Oliver began to dig as soft as he could.

In no time, more bones were discovered, and even a whole dinosaur skeleton was found!

Everyone clapped and cheered!

"This is a very historic day for the Island of Sodor." boomed Sir Topham Hatt.

"All thanks to Oliver's careful digging." said Miss Jenny.

"It makes me proud to work here!" exclaimed Alfie.

Soon, a photographer arrived to take pictures of Oliver and the dinosaur fossils.

The next morning, Thomas took Sir Topham Hatt to the yards.

"It seems we have made the newspaper!" said Sir Topham Hatt.

"It's Oliver!" exclaimed Ned, looking at the picture on the front cover of the newspaper.

"And the dinosaur!" added in Jack.

"The front page no less!" said Miss Jenny.

Oliver was proud.
