Dear America,
I can't believe I'm doing this, but I think it's about time I let my pride fall, don't you think?
I want to apologize; apologize for the way I've been acting towards you ever since the Revolution. I am truly sorry. I was so blind with the past.
Throughout the years in my absence, you have seen what the world is truly capable of: hatred, death, war, and many other evils, but you have also seen the good that the world has to offer.
You have handled being an independent nation very well. Becoming a nation like yourself was hard work, especially when it came to leaving someone you love. Building up a strong government and military was no easy task either.
But you have surprised the world in such a short time. The nation you have become is something wonderful. You take in the oppressed, the war-stricken, and give them the freedoms they desperately long for. At the same time, you teach us old nations that we could do the same.
I know there are many countries out there who hate you, wanting nothing more than to see you wiped off the face of the Earth. Don't let them get to you, don't let them get away with the things they have done to you. For they have awakened a powerful soldier, that will do anything to protect his country and people.
Don't take the insults us older countries throw at you to heart, like I know you do sometimes. Use them to make yourself better and stronger. Surprise us more with how much you've grown and matured!
I thought that I had messed up somewhere in raising you, but looking at you now, you have proved me dead wrong. If I didn't let you go back then, then you would not be the nation you are today.
I'm going to say something I should have said a long time ago.
America, I am so proud of you. I am proud of the nation you have become. You have shown me that I should let the past go, and continue with the present.
If there ever comes a time where my life as a nation ends, promise me that you will continue to be the beautiful, loving, cheerful nation that you are. I can't stand to see you broken and depressed.
I have just one more thing to say...
I love you, my dear America. Always have and always will.
I just hope you can forgive an old, grumpy man like me...
Love,
England
Again, I know it could use some work ^^ I really enjoyed typing this up though! If you see something I can fix, please don't hesitate to tell me! Any help would be appreciated! :) Anyways, I hope you enjoy!
