Saiyan Pride
Darkness closed in on the world. Thunderous clouds wielding lightning lay in the skies,
while the sun disappeared beneath the ranges of mountains in the east.
Vejita stared into the starry sky. His mind raced with thoughts that were all too silent in
the echoing caverns of his wandering mind. His thoughts were more than pleasantries,
they were the many beliefs that had escaped him over the years. The dreams he had
lost. Everything he had hoped he would be.
"Kaka... Kakarotto..."
Goku was gone forever this time. The Dragonballs had gone with him, so there was no
way to bring him back. He had sacrificed himself for eternity this time so that the people
who had died during the battle with LI-Shenlong could feel the joy of life once more.
Goku's life had been too short-lived. Thinking back on all the noble things Goku had
done, Vejita felt that somewhere in his heart, he could feel exactly what Goku was
thinking during those many fights they had together.
"Kakarotto... if only I had been stronger... maybe you wouldn't have had to go. Maybe
you would still be alive this very day. Now I'm trapped here, alone on this planet, with no
worthy adversary, and my life seems incomplete."
"Kakarotto, you don't know how long I'd waited for that rematch. Always have I longed to
be the greater, but after I finally realized I'd never reach your power level, it all seemed
so futile. So worthless. I had failed myself by not achieving that which I had longed
forward."
Vejita snatched some dirt off the ground and shook it in his left hand. "Kakarotto. You
cannot begin to imagine all of this. Every great while, I feel that horrendous pain... that
which eats at my soul, because I never had what you had. I never will. I will take second
each time."
"Still, it is impossible to imagine how you managed to willingly sacrifice yourself time and
time again, giving up everything to save a world that doesn't care about you; and you
wouldn't have even known if you would have been wished back."
"Kakarotto. Return, Kakarotto. I no longer desire to be the only pure Saiyan. I am alone.
Without enemies. Without anything."
