Hiro led Varian upstairs to his bedroom. Varian noticed there's only one bed. "Umm, Hiro? There's just one bed." Varian said. "I know, but you can have Tadashi's bed." Hiro replied as he pull the Japanese sliding door revealing a spare bed. However, Varian had a bad feeling. "I don't know if I should. I feel like I'm disrespecting your brother." Varian tried to explain humbly. This confuse Hiro just like back at the lab where they first met! "Tadashi would insist. But if you feel uncomfortable, then you can sleep on my bed and I'll sleep on Tadashi's bed, OK?" Hiro offered. Varian nodded his head. At dinner, Aunt Cass served a traditional Sushi. "Umm...what are these?" Varian asked. "Sushi, raw fish wrapped in seaweed." Hiro answered. But to Varian that didn't sound too appealing. But not wanting to be rude, Varian took a bite and felt the urge to gag. Aunt Cass noticed this and offered Varian something else to eat. "T-Thanks." Varian said in relief.
After dinner, the two went to bed early but neither had a pleasant sleep. Hiro was thinking how he could help this boy. Varian was wearing clothes that suggest he was a peasant from a timeline where there wasn't much technology yet Varian understands things like robots and chemicals. 'Maybe he's from the early 1800's?' Hiro thought. Meanwhile, Varian couldn't help but enjoy Hiro's company. But there's one problem: 'What if Hiro is homophobic?' And if he isn't, would Hiro still accept Varian even if Varian reveal his dark secrets to Hiro?' Varian thought in his head. Varian didn't have a good history of friends and people he trusted. Varian thought it made him vulnerable and gullible to be lied to. But Varian hope that Hiro doesn't betray him. Especially since Varian realize he's falling in love. The last thing Varian need is another heartbreak!
The next morning, they woke up. Hiro and Varian got dressed, ate breakfast together, and went off to school. Hiro explain a plan to have Varian fit in until an science expo is held the same way Hiro got in. "Ok got it?" Hiro asked. Varian smirk and give a thumbs up. "HEY HIRO!" Fred, one of Hiro's friends called out. "Hi Fred." Hiro said. "Who's this?" Fred asked. "This is Varian. He's new here." Hiro said. 'Uh-Hi?" Varian greeted nervously. "What's up, Varian!" Fred said excitedly. "Umm...the sky?" Varian replied. Hiro face palm. At lunch, Fred and Hiro introduce Varian to the rest of the gang. Then an obnoxious voice called out, "Great! There's two of them!" They both turn around to see "Karmi." Hiro muttered under his breath. "A rival of yours?" Varian asked. "Yeah, if she puts on a cheerful smile it's usually in front of Miss Granvile. Karmi has a grudge against because she 'used' to be the youngest genius student until I got enrolled. Don't tell her you graduated at the age of ten, she'll freak!" Hiro explained. But Varian actually wanted to press her berserk button and see what happens. Later that day, Hiro and Varian were getting to know each other. Hiro told Varian he used to have a crush on a girl but it turns out she was just a robot created by another rival of his, which disappointed Hiro that she wasn't real. That she was too good to be true. Varian felt bad, so he decided to be friends with Hiro until it was the right time to tell Hiro his true feelings.
For the next few months, things have been going great! Varian was quickly getting adapted to the Modern Age. Hiro and the others let Varian in on their secret double life which Varian thought was cool! Finally Varian thought it was time: he brought a bouquet of flowers, walk to the recent fight zone of Big Hero 6, and saw Hiro in his hero suit...being kissed by Karmi! Varian dropped the bouquet and stood there emotionless. Even when he heard Rapunzel, Eugene, and Cassandra yelling his name...Varian didn't say anything. Varian hoped that history won't repeat itself. But it did and in the worse way! After the kiss, Hiro finally looked at Varian. "Varian? How long have you been standing there?" Hiro asked. Varian's sad and confused face turns into an scary angry one. Hiro thought Varian's Death Glare was like a thousand fiery daggers coming right at him! Varian ran up and square punch Karmi in the face enough for her to get a nosebleed! "VARIAN! ARE YOU CRAZY?" Hiro asked. Then Varian turn towards Hiro with fresh hot tears coming down his face. "SHUT THE HELL UP! I TRUSTED YOU! I THOUGHT YOU CARE ABOUT ME! BUT IT SEEMS YOU DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT ME!" Varian in Hiro's face. Then Varian took off the opposite direction, sobbing as he ran like his life depends on it! Everyone including Hiro stood there, wondering what in the world just happen. Then Hiro noticed Varian's bouquet that he dropped. Hiro walk over, pick it, and read the tag 'To: Hiro, From: Varian'. Baymax reveal that Varian for the last few months show signs of affections towards Hiro. That's when Hiro realized..."Oh shit!"
Varian kept running without stopping for one second! Then he heard a familiar pair of jets. "GO AWAY HIRO! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FUCKING FACE!" Varian shouted. Hiro jump off of Baymax to chase after Varian on foot. "VARIAN! WAIT! I'M SORRY! I CAN EXPLAIN!" Hiro yelled. "BULLSHIT! CUT THE ACT, DAMN IT! You LIED to me from the very beginning! "Varian! I'm sorry! It's just Karmi had a crush on me as a hero instead of me as Hiro Hamada! I know it sounds crazy but there's no other way to explain!" Hiro explain quickly, hoping Varian listen and understand. Unfortunately, Varian didn't want to listen nor understand. "FUCK YOU HIRO! I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES! I'LL MAKE YOU PAY LIKE ALL OF THE OTHERS!" Varian yelled as he got into a giant robot and decided to terrorized the city. Now Big Hero 6 had a new threat: however Hiro refused to fight him! Hiro took off his helmet and walked to the giant robot. "Varian, that's enough! Is this what your dad wanted?" Hiro tried to reason with Varian. But Varian was too pissed off to even think about until-"VARIAN!" Varian looked and saw his dad, Quirin! Varian got out of the robot and ran towards him! "DAD! YOU'RE O-"
SLAP!
Quirin had slap Varian across the face! Varian put a hand on the red side of his face. He saw the disgust and disappointment in Quirin's expression. "Never mind that you threaten the Royal Crown...BUT YOU WENT TO COMMIT THE GREATEST SIN?!" Quirin yelled in Varian's face. Yes, it hit him: Quirin was Homophobic! "Varian, I've raised you and this is what you repay me for? You're dead to me." Quirin said coldly and turn to walk away as Varian sink to the ground sobbing. Hiro felt horrible for witnessing this. He walked up to Varian, kneel down, and lifted his face. "What? Are you happy now?" Varian asked. "Varian...I-I...I love you." Hiro said as he went to make the first move but Varian quickly back away. Hiro looked at him confused. "I'm sorry! Not only for all the crime I've done, but also for this! It's just... I want my first kiss to be special. Not when my dad pretty much disown me for being gay." Varian explained. Hiro smiled, "That's ok! So, how about a date tonight? My treat." Hiro replied as he kissed Varian on the red cheek just like how Trina did to Hiro before. Varian smiled back, "I-I love that. Thank you." Varian replied. Later that night with the help of Rapunzel and Hiro's friends, Varian and Hiro's first date went great.
