Chapter 1
Nick sees Lorelai getting off the elevator.
'Lorelai.'' he says
''look I'm a very sorry it was a mistake.'' he tells her
Lorelai just starts to walk away from him ''look smart guy you saved the company.'' she tells him madly
''I don't care about the company...at least it's not my first concern.'' he tells her
Lorelai walks back to him with a confused look on her face.
''then what is?'' she asks him
''you...and me.'' he tells her
''Nick don't do this to me don't do this to me I've moved on I've made plans.'' she tells him
''your plans if they include marrying a guy who wants you just so he can take over your family's company are insane!'' he tells her angrily
''I'm sorry you can't just show up here whenever you want and screw with my head Nick!'' she tells him angrily
''I know I'm sorry I'm sorry okay I just I don't want to see you make a huge mistake.'' he tells her
''then step up!'' she tells him
''what do you mean?'' he asks her
''don't ask me to give up everything for nothing don't ask me to derail my life if you're not going to derail yours because I can't leave Jason for an obstraction Nick I can only...I can only leave him for you.'' she tells him half crying she tries to hold her crying back
''what's it going to be?'' she asks him
they stand there is silence watching each other's eyes with Lorelai shaking her head at him
Later on at house Lorelai is laying in bed and Nick comes into the room.
''hey what are you doing?'' he asks her
''oh ya know reading a book about giving birth with pictures!'' she tells him
''hey I want to do it.'' he tells her
''okay get in.'' she tells him lifting the blankets
''no Lorelai me and you together.'' he tells her
''and the baby?'' she asks him
''and the baby all of us...together.'' he tells her
''um...are you sure about this?'' she asks him
''yes.'' he tells her
''its just when I think about all the surprises that we got from people who we thought we knew...'' he says and she cuts him off
''like your ex.'' she says
''and your's.'' he says
''oh...we can pick them can't we?'' she asks him
''yea we sure can.'' he tells her
''but...we know everything about each other good,bad,ugly and I'm just not okay with who you are I love who you are.'' he tells her
''it's just that the first day that I saw you I just knew that you were the girl for me.'' he tells her and smiles at her
''yea.'' she says and smiles at him
''yea...yea.'' he says with a smile
''so you and me what do ya think?'' he asks her
''oh...I think it's about time!'' she tells him
Nick pulls her in for a kiss.
