"No."
"…What if I got you a penguin?"
Jadelyn West furrows her brows. "Still no."
The redhead sits with her legs crossed on the bed in Jade's room. The sheets were in the washer. At the other girl's response Cat glances at her ankles, then back up with her big, brown eyes. "A cookie?" Her head cocks the way a puppy would.
Jade stops cutting her homework from yesterday, dropping her red scissors on the floor. "Cat, I'm not letting you into my phone."
Chocolate eyes blink in honest confusion. "But I'm too big to fit in your phone."
"You can't look at the picture, Cat."
"Then can I watch the video?"
"No."
"But it makes me feel good."
The darker haired girl looks at redhead with a contemplating expression. "Weren't Tori and I making you feel good a little while ago?"
"Yeah, but Tori's not here anymore."
"So I'm not good enough unless Tori's here too?" Jade puts a hand on her chest and shoot her classmate a look.
"No." Cat blurts, holding her hands out, eyes wide. "That's not what I was trying to say!"
A black brow arched at the redhead's antics with a slight touch of amusement.
"I just - it's been ten minutes, Jade. That's like ten thousand seconds!"
"Are you sure? You might want to rethink that."
"Jade…"
"What…"
"Tori won't be back here until tomorrow." Cat whines.
"She'll be at school. Perfect attendance record and all."
Cat uncrossed her legs and slunk down to the floor. Her delicate hands and slender arms encircle Jade's neck. "I don't wanna wait."
Jade groans as a pink tongue darts playfully on her neck. "Maybe you don't have to."
"No, I think I'll watch that video now." Cat whisks away in swirl of red hair, snatching Jade's pearphone from under her legs.
And Jade couldn't sleep that night, for the recorded moanings rang throughout the house.
