A/N: JOHNNY AND DALLY ARE NOT DEAD!
Chapter 1: Bored
Sodapop POV.
It was another hot, boring, summer day, and neither I nor any other member of the gang could think of anything to do. Darry had just returned from work and was now complaining about the absense of our youngest brother. Ponyboy had been gone a week now, off at some writers camp or something, and wasn't due home for another month and a half. Now we were all in the living room, laying around or sitting, bored outta our minds. Finally, the silence got to me and I got up and went to mine and Pony's shared room to retrieve a book to read. I know I hated reading, but it was better than sitting in silence. I went over to Pony's cluttered desk and shifted stuff around to look for a book. A bright red piece of paper caught my eye. It was Pony's English Composition notebook from the school year. Intrested, I picked it up flipped through it. I had always liked Pony's writing. Most of the compositions were short ones about random things. What stopped me was one labled "The Outsiders". Intresting title. I scanned it and my jaw dropped. I closed it and ran back into the living room.
"Guys! Guess what I found on Pony's desk?" Everyone looked up at me.
"God only knows, Sodapop." Darry muttered from his chair. I ignored his grumpy comment.
"His compisition book!"
"That's nice. Why exactly are you telling us?" Dally grumbled. What was with them?
"Weeeell, it has his compesition that got hiom that B last fall." I told him. Now everyone was paying attention.
"The one about the incident?" Steve questioned.
"The very one!" I walked back over to the couch and sat it down on my lap. Now everyone, includiong me, was looking at it.
"Aren't we going to read it?" Two-bit asked.
"We shouldn't. Pony hates it when others read his writing." Johnny commented quietly. I knew he was right, but I was too curiose of what happened that fateful week to litsen to him.
"Aw, c'mon Johnny, we'll just read a bit of it, he'll never have to know." I could tell Johnny still didn't like it, but he stayed shut up. I opened to the first page and began reading.
