Author's Note: This is my oldest piece of fan-fiction ever written. This isn't really great, but I've improved greatly since then. This oneshot is actually related to another story that I'm writing. Expect that story to pop up in a couple of weeks.

Blood covered the walls. Mangled body parts and crushed heads littered the carpeted floors. This was the sight in Apartment 156 in the colony of Port Hanshan. The door of the apartment slid in, and in stepped Officer Kent of the Port Hanshan Police Force. He swore under his breath, and removed a small standard pistol from its holster on his hip.

Another murder, he thought to himself. He sighed, and began to slowly survey the room, making sure that whoever committed the crime was long gone. He entered the back room, to find an elderly woman strapped to a chair, her eyes missing, and her legs were adorned with small, but deep gashes. This was not a big surprise to Richard Kent, for the last few weeks had been filled with several similar crimes. He was put on the case, for he was known to have solved some of the most serious cases in the port's history.

His eyes darted across the room, noticing more and more bodies littering the floors. The biggest mystery of the case was how so many people managed to end up in this room. It was the same for the last few crimes, one of them amounting to over 54 confirmed bodies. Then he saw it, in the corner of the room. His grip tightened on his pistol. He had no idea how he hadn't noticed it before. A blood-soaked turian stood in the corner of the room, his eyes gazing at the floor. His face slowly rose up, and then, the turian laughed. A deep, sinister laugh.

Richard lifted his pistol up to face the turian, hoping to get a shot at his face. He was much too slow. In only a few seconds, the beaked turian had managed to pin Richard to the ground disarming him in the process. It happened so fast, it took Kent several seconds to realize what had happened. The turian raised Kent's pistol and jammed it in his face.

Kent knew this was the end, he never expected to die like this. Kent grimaced and closed his eyes, waiting for the pain. It never came. A shot rang out, but it didn't hit Kent. He opened his eyes and saw the turian that attacked him face down, a large hole in the back of his blood, blood spurting out. He could see another turian with a long sniper rifle in hand. He recognized the turian from several vids he had watched on his first and only visit to the Citadel.

His name was Garrus. The turian strode over to Kent and held his hand out. The policeman grabbed the turian's hand and lifted himself up.

"Thanks", Kent said, obviously relieved. Garrus was about to speak when he received a message from the communication device in his ear. Garrus looked at Kent with familiar eyes. Eyes that meant: Duty calls. Kent understood and nodded.

Duty calls.
