A Viktor Krum drabble.

Disclaimer: I wish I knew Krummy-cakes. I'm never saying that again...

As he took his seat for the Weasley/Delacour wedding, Viktor Krum looked around hoping to spot one special person. Wasn't she good friends with the grooms brother? Surely she would be here. Then he saw her, Hermione Granger. Looking as beautiful as ever, she was sitting only a few rows ahead of him. He found himself staring at her through the entire ceremonies, fidgeting in his seat waiting for Fleur and her fiance to exchange vows and kiss so that they could move on and he could talk to Hermione again.

Unfortunately for him he got caught up with congratulating the new husband and wife, having some minor conversations with excited fans, catching up with some old friends and before he knew it Hermoine was dancing with Ronald Weasley. When he asked one of Bill's cousins, he was told that they were indeed dating. It didn't come as a shock to him. There was always something there. Perhaps if Ron Weasley and Hermione never met, she would be more interested in him. However, that was not the case. Even when they were dating, she would mention him frequently. Now here he was, Viktor Krum, Quidditch hero, the dream of so many girls, coming in second to Ronald Weasley. Who would have thought such a thing?

His eyes remained on her as she danced with Ron. The way he made her smile filled Krum with jealousy. Why couldn't she laugh like that with him? What made Weasley so special? Viktor was thinking that he could be a king, living in a beautiful castle and he could ask for her to be his queen and she would still decline. If it meant leaving Ron Weasley, she wouldn't do it. The envy was growing inside of him more with every second that ticked by. Eventually he had to look way, not being able to see the way those two fit together so well.

If only those two never met. If she had never fallen for him. Or if she had looked at me the same way she looked at him. He sighed, not liking how pathetic he was beginning to feel. It was time to move past her. This wedding was going to be his last attempt to win her over and he could see that it was already too late. They had a chance together once, and he just wasn't good enough for her. Not when Ron Weasley was there. It could have been possible. He tried to convince himself. She did like me, she just liked him more. He smiled at the thought of them together. The image of them dancing together brought a bittersweet laugh to his lips as he remembered a quote he had heard once, "For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are those 'It might have been.'"

So, what did you think? At first I didn't know at all what to do with it, but now I quite like it. I am pretty fond of Viktor Krum as a character although I would have never thought to write on him.
