"I swear, one day your gonna get yourself killed"

"Look, she's our only lead-" Jace replied

"And his daughter can I point out"

"Alec, she didn't even know about this world, you can tell"

"Fine, but we shouldn't automatically trust her"

Jace sighed. Alec understood why he would just give up on the Law and go against the clave, Jace has always been like that, too loyal to his allies. But Alec knew the risk and though he had slight biased reasons to disapprove of Clary, he also knew the clave is watching her therefore them.

Alec and Jace walked into the training room, getting ready for some sparring. Alec preferred hand to hand combat other than his bow but Jace preferred seraph fighting, therefore they trained with staffs. They both took there tops off otherwise Mayres would get mad at them. The staffs were about 1 and a half meters long and fairly heavy.

"So," Jace broke the silence, "You gonna hit me or not?"

"Tempting, never know it might knock some sense into your thick head of yours"

"Thick and incredibly attractive head"

"Let's just stick with thick"

Clary walked around the institute, looking for Max. He'd persuaded her to play Shadow and seek with him and Izzy. He was annoyingly had to find being so small. Around the training room she heard clashes and bangs. Curious, she walked into the room to see Alec and Jace, shirtless, fighting furiously. Jace had a bloody nose and Alec had a split lip but neither looked close to backing down. As Alec managed to kick Jace to the wall pinning him against it he head butted Jace, a bit too hard, knocking him out cold.

"Alec!" Izzy walked in holding her brother back as Clary put a healing rune on Jace, "What's wrong with you?"

"I, I..." Alec stumbled, clearly exhausted

"A cage match gone on too long" Clary offered, giving Alec a bit of a chance, which he gratefully took,

"We just got a little carried away" he confirmed, as Clary drew the healing rune on him as well

"Well that's a very rare sight" A soft, young voice floated through the room.

A girl, wearing a loose tee and black jeans stood in the doorway of the training room, smiling at the scene. Her copper hair was up in a bun and her green jacket hung around her slim and flat body. She was round 14 but she had an air of confidence and authority that made her seem older.

"Cali?" Alec stared before he broke into a real smile as she rushed into his arms.
