Apollo sits there. His mouth is open in a comical fashion. He had dropped his glasses, nearly crashed his car, and was still in shock. The thin lines of text are still on his cell phone, and how Perseus got his number he was not sure.
Dark swirling clouds loom,
Bringing news of the goddess,
Apollo guides me
He stared blankly at it, still trying to form words. He had been joking about the haiku, but here it was, thumbing its nose at him and laughing. For once, the ability to speak has taken a sharp right turn out of his mind, lingering only to giggle at him like a maniac.
The drive back is silent. He can't think of anything to say. When he reached the tiny apartment building, he still couldn't speak. Four flights of stairs later he was still silent. A knock on the door and Percy's voice rings out in the apartment, telling him that he was on his way.
The young demigod observes him at the door, lips curved into wicked amusement. He leads him into the kitchen, and then onto the porch. They sit there, and Percy resumes typing away at his laptop, swearing under his breath as he tried to finish his term paper. Apollo watches it all, silently, as if he didn't exist. Finally Percy looks up and laughs at him.
"I know I look good Apollo," Percy laughed. "But really, I think that you could talk by now." Apollo didn't answer, instead taking him in. Percy shifts, starting to feel uncomfortable.
He tries to formulate the words, but nothing comes out. Not even something idiotic. For once, he's speechless –but he's okay with it, because the next thing he realizes, he's kissing Percy, and Percy is in his lap, kissing him back.
