The Lion and the Eagle

"Potter! Evans! Wake up!" a very alive, very angry Professor Binns snapped. (A/N: Ok, I couldn't resist! I wanted to see what our dear Prof. Binns would be like alive!)

"Huh? Wha?" James said, picking his head off his desk. He looked around. "Lily! Lily! Wake up!"

"Go 'way, Ayumi! It's too early," she mumbled.

"Lily!" James whispered urgently. "We're in History of Magic! Wake up!"

"WHAT! WHY DIDN'T YOU WAKE ME UP EARLIER!" she screamed at her boyfriend.

"Uh…I was asleep too," he whispered.

"What were you two doing last night?" Sirius whispered, a row behind. "Prongs, you gotta fill me in."

"Shut up, Sirius, we didn't do anything," Lily said adamantly, hearing him talking to James. "I'll tell you after class."

"Since you two seem to think you are smart enough to sleep through class, maybe you can tell me what we were talking about?" Professor Binns asked.

"Well, uh…we were talking about…" James trailed off.

"We were talking about Ancient Prophesies, Professor," Ayumi piped up.

"I wasn't talking to you, Ayumi. 5 points from Gryffindor!" Binns replied angrily. "I'll see Potter and Evans after class!"

"You two were sleeping during my class. I will not allow that. You will work together on an extra project. You must research an ancient prophecy, and interpret it," he said shortly. "You are dismissed."

"Man, Binns woke up on the wrong side of the bed today!" Sirius said as James and Lily joined them. "Did you get detention?"

"Not even that good! We gotta do an extra project! On ancient prophecies!" James said in indignation.

"Yah, what's the point of studying what some old guy said years ago?" Lily asked, sitting down next to Sirius.

"Aren't you lucky?" Sirius said sarcastically.

"What do we have after lunch?" James asked, changing the subject.

"Oh, lucky us! Divination!" Sirius exclaimed, looking at his schedule. "We had to learn about what old guys said, and now we have to make things like the old guys!"

James could tell Sirius was in a bad mood. "What's wrong, Sirius?" he asked, concerned.

"Nothing! Why do you think anything is wrong?" he said, as slowly squished his cookie into tiny crumbs.

"Oh, having girl problems again?" Lily looked over, knowingly.

"How did you know?" Sirius stared wide-eyed at her.

"I dunno. I just had this weird feeling. Like I could see your thoughts, but just for a second," she said, confusedly.

"Ok, what's so wrong with me?" Sirius asked, not believing her.

"Oh, I don't wanna say. It's not very nice, cuz then people would find out about how you have a secret crush on Ayumi-" Her mouth was covered by Sirius's hand.

"What's that? I didn't quite hear!" James teased.

"Oh shut up! You heard all of it!" Sirius said, blushing. "Who else heard?" Most people around them raised their hands. "If you tell ANYONE I will find out, and make your life as miserable as possible.

Everyone took this threat seriously. The 6 Marauders were quick to take vengeance on anyone who had invaded their privacy.

"Hey, Lilz, we better go to the library tonight to start research on our project. Let's find a good prophecy. I don't wanna do some stupid prophecy about the time the moon will fall. Let's make a project that will blow Binns's mind." James grinned mischievously.
