When Flim and Flam had finished their challenge with my family and friends, they got asked by Celestia herself to overlook some research on their machine. After a couple years of no word about this research by most of Equestria, many ponies ignored the research and assumed it was discontinued. After an event that left Celestia unable to keep her throne and Luna was left to manage Equestria, she revealed Celestia had stopped the research and got all the ponies working on it and within a year they made enough progress to rival the development of Canterlot.
