A/N: Bellatrix is worried about Regulus after he was out on a night of drinking. This is a reverse-verse fic with a loving, caring, concerned, older sibling Bellatrix and an evil, uncaring Narcissa, focusing more on Bella than Narcissa. This is a pre-quel to: My Messed-Up Cousins. In this fic, Regulus is 17 or 18, making Bellatrix 27 and Narcissa 23. I do not own Harry Potter.

Bellatrix woke up with a smile one morning. She stretched leisurely over her head, running an idle hand through her long, straight black hair. She leaned over and kissed her sleeping husband on the cheek before rising from the bed. She ran to the bathroom and took a long refreshing shower before throwing on a light pink dress with large white flowers.

She sat in front of the vanity applying her lipstick when saw her husband wake up behind her in the mirror. He came up behind and gave her a soft kiss to her forehead, "Good morning, dear."

"Good morning, Roddie. You came in very late last night," she said with a laugh.

He grinned and said, "We went on a little longer than we expected. I think your cousin may have overdid himself though. I had to help him home and get him to bed."

She spun in her chair and said, "You left him home when he was unwell? Why didn't you take him here?"

Rodolphus shrugged and said, "Your cousin is a big boy, Bella. He can handle himself."

Bellatrix frowned before turning back to the mirror and finishing her face. She called out as Rodolphus headed to the bathroom himself, "I'm still going to check on him."

She bustled downstairs quickly. Her mind was so concerned with Regulus that she jumped when the flames of the fireplace turned green. Out stepped her lovely sister, Narcissa. Bellatrix bit her lip nervously. There was always something about Narcissa that made her uneasy. Narcissa had a mean streak, and that was putting it lightly. Narcissa could be downright demonic if she wanted to be.

She gave Bellatrix a wide smile, her long green dress ghosting along the floor as she stepped into the living room. Her blonde, almost white, hair fell to her waist in long tangles and Bellatrix wondered if she even bothered to comb it this morning. Her lips were painted black, contrasting with Bellatrix's own pink lips, but immaculately done.

"Running away so early in the morning. Where are you going?" Narcissa asked.

"What do you want, Narcissa?" Bellatrix asked while narrowing her eyes, ignoring the question completely.

"Can't a woman visit her sister because she loves her?" Narcissa asked innocently.

"Maybe, but not you," Bellatrix said, pushing past Narcissa and grabbing for some floo powder.

"Ha, maybe. I was wondering if you wanted to go to Diagon Alley with me today. I have some things to do there today," she said.

Bellatrix turned to her sister, "And you need me to go with you?"

Narcissa came close and placed a neatly manicured hand on Bellatrix's wrist. "Yes. It'll be fun."

Was a day with Narcissa ever really fun? But Bellatrix could never say no to her younger sister, and Narcissa knew this.

"Fine. But we're stopping at Regulus' first," Bellatrix said as she handed some floo powder to Narcissa.

Narcissa took the powder and asked, "The brat? Why?"

Bellatrix said, "He's not feeling well."

Narcissa rolled her eyes, "He's a big boy now, Bella. He doesn't need your coddling."

Bellatrix said, "I just want to check to make sure. If anything, I'll meet you at the Leaky Cauldron in 15 minutes." She stepped into the fireplace and said clearly, "Number 12 Grimmauld Place."
