As she walks into the building for regionals, she is on top of the world. After all, she has Finn now, and he's finally ready to come out as a couple. She grips his hand tightly, to keep him from straying.
"What's the matter?" He asks, trying to loosen his hand a bit.
"I'm just thinking about the last time we were here. Everything was so different then." She says with a tight smile.
He looks as though he's in another world. "Yeah," he responds quietly. "Everything was different."

They hurry to sit down in their seats so they can hear the performances before they go on. The competition is tough this year, and everyone was scared of what Coach Sylvester has planned. As it turns out, though, Aural Intensity's performance was just sort of weird. As the lights dim, the Dalton Academy Warblers take the stage. She doesn't recognize the song, but it sounds pretty. She glances over at Finn, hoping to share some romantic eye contact with him, but instead she finds his head turned. She follows his gaze, even though she doesn't need to. Of course, she thinks. He's always looking at her.

Rachel goes out to sing her ballad, and the rest of the glee club waits in the wings. She stands slightly behind Finn, as it's almost obvious he doesn't want anyone near him right now. She can see half of his face though, and it's written clear as day that's he's mesmerized by her song. As the song reaches the bridge, Rachel looks frantically over at Finn, and he stares right back at her. She's seen that look before. That look was on his face when she sang "The Only Exception" to him. That look was on his face all year last year when she still had him. And she can't help but feel like she's already lost him to Rachel Berry for the second time.

It's annoying, okay? It's annoying that every time she manages to snag Finn, Rachel steals him. If Rachel didn't exist, it would be her singing the lead with Finn. It would always be her he would come back to. It would be her that always got his hug after competitions. When it comes to her relationship with Finn, she'll always be in second place because she is Quinn Fabray. She does not have brown hair or brown eyes. And she knows no matter what Finn says, that's all he wants. But she'll try to keep him for as long as possible.
