Alison's POV
I always had these feelings, just towards the wrong person. For the longest time I thought I would end up with Emily, but I never expected to catch feelings for a different girl. A girl who was already in love with someone else, a girl who probably thought of me as a terrible friend. She would never feel the same way I felt.
I couldn't handle seeing her hurting. Seeing her with tears in her eyes and knowing that there was nothing that I could do. All I wanted to do was hold her, and never let her go. My heart broke when she spoke of her past relationship. I heard everything that he did, and the anger grew inside me. I wished more than anything to save her from her pain.
My eyes slowly flickered opened to reveal the bright sun, shining inside the quiet room. I felt her head on my chest, and realized she was still cuddling next to me. In an instance my heart began to beat faster, causing my breath to become shallow. Did she know that she was still leaning on me; did she want to be close to me? I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer not caring what would happen. As I held her tighter, I saw a smile emerge on her face.
"Morning" she whispered in my ear
"Hey you" I saw her snuggle closer to my leaning her head onto my shoulder
"Is anyone else awake?" she asked slowly closing her eyes
I quickly looked around the room as the rest of the girls who began to stir in their sleep "They'll be up soon"
"Awesome" she said sarcastically
"Just keep sleeping, I'll wake you up in a little while" I felt her fingers intertwine with mine
"Thank you" she answered sleepily "love you, goodnight"
"I love you to" the only difference was I meant it as more than a friend
Before I knew it, it was already 10 I looked around the room and saw that the other girls were already awake and had left the bedroom.
"Hey" I whispered softly "Wake up"
Her tired eyes opened and met with mine. She was perfect, even with her bedhead and her ripped tank top. Even just waking up she was perfect, no matter what she was doing. In my eyes she was always perfect.
She moaned softly as she sat up "Where is everyone?"
"Downstairs probably" I answered seeing that our hands were still linked
I felt her hand tighten before she released me "We should get going"
My heart was filled with disappointment; all I wanted was for her to stay with me. Why couldn't I tell her?
"Wait"
She was almost to the door when I called out "Yea"
"I…" The words became stuck in my throat "I'm happy to be back" I spit out
There it was her gorgeous, bright smile "So am I"
I watched as she fled from the room, so gracefully "Wait for me"
Hasting's Kitchen
All the girls were sitting in the kitchen enjoying the gourmet breakfast.
"Look at that the cuddle buddies are awake" Spencer joked
I watched Emily's face turn sour as she heard Spencer joke. I felt terrible I knew Emily had feelings for me before I went missing, and I could tell she still had those feelings now that I was back.
"Funny Spence" I approached the girls and took a seat "What the hell is this?" I asked looking at the fancy breakfast
"It's scones" she snapped as she passed me the unknown food
"So" Emily began "Why were you cuddling?"
"EMILY!" Spencer yelled
I looked towards her waiting for her to explain.
"I was upset. Ali was comforting me, don't be jealous Em" she joked
"I'm not" she lied shoving the scone into her mouth
"It sounded like you were when we woke up"
"Hanna!" Emily shouted towards the blonde
"Guys chill out, I already told you I was upset nothing more okay!"
I hurt to hear that, it hurt knowing that she didn't feel the same way. It hurt knowing that I would never be able to be with my love. To never be with Aria.
