Ayla had been secretly crushing on a boy. Not just any boy, though. He was cute, and smart, and kind, and well, you get the picture.
"Artemis will never know," she said to herself one day.
"Know what?" Artemis demanded, apparently hearing what Ayla had said.
All the huntresses were out hunting in the middle of the night, and so far, Ayla's secret was safe.
"Know what?" all the other huntresses repeated.
"That I... Umm... Accidentally let a monster go?" Ayla stuttered.
"You what? Well, I believe that was only a mistake." Artemis sighed.
"Your hiding something." Thalia grunted.
"Now, we mustn't accuse," Artemis said.
"Fine." Thalia grumbled.
Ayla sighed a sigh of relief and tightened her grip around her bow. She enjoyed being a huntress, but she also wanted to fall in love. And she did, and Artemis had showed no signs of knowing, yet.
Back at the camp, everyone was chatting about and practicing their archery. Thalia strolled over to Ayla, who was sitting by the fire and roasting marshmallows.
"You are no hunter of Artemis!" she shrieked.
Everyone turned to glare at Ayla, who blushed bright red and glared back at Thalia.
"What do you mean?" she cried back.
"This," Thalia snorted, handing Ayla her diary.
"Oh no..." Ayla thought.
"I found these," Thalia continued, jabbing a finger at one of the pages in which Ayla had wrote about her special someone.
"I-I-I..." Ayla stammered.
"Is this true?" Artemis asked painfully.
"Y-yes, I believe so." Ayla gulped.
"So it is said, so it shall be," Artemis sighed, grabbing her bow and quiver of arrows.
"Wandering creature or looker over all?" Artemis demanded, pointing her arrow at Ayla.
"What do you mean?" Ayla panicked.
"Lost and starving animal or unmoving star of the sky?" Artemis gritted her teeth.
"I don't know!" Ayla cried, tears burning in her eyes.
Artemis lowered her bow and gazed sadly at Ayla.
"You broke your vow..." she whispered.
"I'm sorry, I really am! I was crushing on this boy I met before, and I'll stop! Really!" Ayla confessed.
"Too late." Artemis grunted, her eyes had become red as all the other huntresses stared in fascination.
In that second, a white light shone and in it's place stood Ayla's clothes and archery items.
"Now you know what will happen if you break your vow," Artemis warned the huntresses.
