Know whats horrible? Me, not owning AC.
It saddens Malik.
It saddens him to know that things might never be the same between them.
Him and Altair.
Altair. One of his best childhood friends, Kadars idol, at one point his lover, and then...a traitor.
He was the reason. The only reason. The reason he had no family left, the very same reason that killed Kardar, and had him lose an arm.
But Altair is only human. Humans are flawed.
He knows this, but chooses to ignore the fact.
But as time goes on, Altair's moves become slower and almost like a drunken man's. He does not eat, if so, rarely, as well as sleep.
And Malik worrys for him.
But of course, he does not speak his thoughts out loud.
On the sixth day, his moves are almost those of a novice on the first day of training. Uncertain and slow.
Its almost a pain to watch as he waits for his next mission.
Malik has had enough though. He speaks.
"...Altair, what is wrong? You've not eaten or slept these last few days. Are you hurt and have not told me? If so, I must know now."
He gets no anwser as Altair steps a little ways back.
"Come on. There must be a reason, your behavior has been...awkward for sometime now. I can help you, tell me...brother."
Malik hasn't called him that even since the accident. It must be a slip of the tounge.
Yet Altair responds, his voice quiet, as if he hasnt spooken for weeks.
Which is most likely the case.
"You don't know what it's like. To lay down and be tortured by the screams of the dying men I've killed by my blade. Some are...Kadars...and some yours. It was hell to sit there and watch as you cried out in your fevered state...to know I could do nothing...to know I had done this." A glance is thrown at his arm.
Malik is frozen. No, more then frozen. He is downright shocked. Why had he not told him sooner? Was he by any chance, frightened by what could be the outcome?
That is most likely the case.
Altair is not supernatural, Malik knows this. He will make mistakes like others. He knows this too. Which is why he says the next words.
"No more talk about this brother. I have already forgiven you, now eat and sleep for your next target awaits."
And for once, Altair listens.
To be honest, this has been sitting there, on my computer for WEEKS.
It was like a punch in the face everytime I passed it. I was getting mad at its dirty attitude.
If there are any mistakes, sorry. It's 4 AM an I was to lazy to look it over.
