Happy, Never Forget

The morning light seeps from the curtains onto his face in a haunting manner, setting his sleepy features ablaze with a deep yellow. She reaches out to push back a cluster of dark hair from out of his eyes.

"You beautiful boy," she whispers, voice heavy with a mixture of awe and sadness.

He wakes upon hearing her voice and smiles slightly, "Good morning."

"Yes," she says.

He wraps an arm around her petite frame and kisses her sad lips, consuming her wholly.

Pulling away he says, "I could live like this". She closes her eyes at his words.

"Blair?"

"Chuck, don't. Please." she snaps.

"Don't what?"

"You know what," she inhales, "Don't make me say it."

He is quiet as he engulfs her once more, tracing his fingers across the span of her exposed skin.

Abruptly, she voices, "I love you."

"I love you, too." he returns, without hesitation, causing her to cry out.

"Don't, Chuck," she sobs into his bare chest, "I need you."

"Shh, shh." he tells hers, and lets her cry.

"Please don't leave me again. I can't do it alone. It hurts. Physically, emotionally, all of it."

"Blair…"

"Why!" she screams, "Why did you have to fucking leave me! Just when things were fucking perfect!"

He stays quiet.

"I love you. You loved me too," she sniffs, "We could have been something."

"Blair. I'll always be here. Not physically, but always."

She clings to his chest, sobbing harder.

"Please don't go again. Stay."

"I can't."

She lets go of the hold she had on him, scooting over to the other side of the bed. He molds into her cold body before places a warming kiss on her shoulder.

"I love you, Blair."

And he is gone.

I began writing this without the intention of Chuck being dead. It sort of just came out that way. I hope you all enjoyed it, morbid-bittersweet ending and all.
I love reviews almost as much as I love Chuck Bass.
