Three Things
A/N: Tis but an homage to my third favourite Glee character, Jesse St. James. (First is none other than Sebastian Smythe.) I picture Jesse as being very angsty under that smooth and superior façade, so here's a little tribute to that, of sorts. I try to keep everyone IC, but I always think that I've failed miserably, so let me know if I've let my idol down.
Disclaimer: Let me break it down for ya. If I owned, I'd be paying homage to Jesse by making out with him, not writing this.

There are three things Jesse St. James likes about himself. His name, his talent, and his looks.
Jesse likes his name because it has an alliterative ring to it. Not to mention that he has St. in his name. Saint, people! But Jesse knows he can never live up to that, no matter how much he wants to or how hard he tries. However, it doesn't stop the little smirk that comes whenever people use his full name, or when that black girl from New Directions who thought she was Aretha reincarnated called him "Mr. St. James". Sarcastic she may have been, but it sounded good nonetheless. An appropriate name for a future star.
Which led to the second thing Jesse liked about himself, his talent. He knew he was insanely talented, but he never meant to sound up himself; he was always just stating a fact, like the sky being blue. He could sing like whoa and act the socks off anyone else. And his talent was going to get him places. It had already gotten him a place in Vocal Adrenaline, a quick promotion to male lead, four national titles, and an acceptance letter and a scholarship to UCLA. And it would get him to Broadway, or he would die trying.
Jesse likes his looks because, hey, they're good. And he's pretty sure that these and the above are the three reasons girls go out with him, because he knows people call him a douche and a jerk and a son of a bitch behind his back although he doesn't know why. But he doesn't care, because he'll be a star and they'll be washing his car in five years' time. And he'll have Rachel (who understands him better than anyone else and whom he loves) and Joshua (his big brother, who taught him how to dance and how to dress like a badass) and Jacinta (his little sister, who wants to be a model and is in treatment for bulimia; he visits twice weekly) with him, since they raised him while his parents were off travelling and Rachel's the only girl he's ever loved, and who needs more than that plus fame? (He has plenty of money already, so it's not on his wish list.)
And Jesse likes these things because he doesn't know anything else about himself that people like, so he figures that's all about him worth loving.
