London, England. Capital of the British Empire and home to the Frye twins. Currently Said twins were in a café 'talking' about money and how they were going to earn more since Jacob spent most of it on top hats.
"What about chimney sweeping?" Evie asked.
"Ugh." Was Jacob's reply "Why would I want to do that? The pay sucks and I don't want to be covered in soot."
Evie gave Jacob a look before giving him a good reason why;
"Well if you hadn't spent almost all of the money on useless top hats then we wouldn't be in this situation. So unless you have a better way to earn money then let's hear it."
"Hey top hats aren't useless, they are cool." Jacob shot back.
"Well they certainly aren't helping us out right now."
Jacob let out a groan and leaned back on his chair. He looked up at the celling hoping that it would have an answer for him. All-the-while Evie tapped her foot waiting for his answer.
"Too bad we can't just do something easy to make money." Jacob mused, still not looking at Evie.
As if a lightbulb went off in Evie's head. She knew of one job that could help them.
"We can actually." Evie said.
Quickly sitting up Jacob looked at his sister, hope in his eyes that he wouldn't have to do anything hard or boring.
"What is it?" He asked.
"We answer letters." Evie replied.
Jacob looked like he had eaten burnt food.
"What?"
"Since you won't agree on anything, this is what we are going to do."
"But Evie." Jacob whined. "That's sounds boring. I don't want to answer letters."
"Tough. Now let's get going before. I don't want to waste any more time."
Grumbling while getting up from his seat, Jacob followed Evie out of the café. He wanted to come up with an excuses to get out of working but that would only put him in more hot water with Evie. He still remembered when Evie found out where all the money went and how mad she was. Evie ended up breaking a few items in the train and threated to burn all of his top hats if he didn't find a way to earn money. Lucky or unluckily she would help out as well. Most likely to make sure he didn't do anything stupid.
"At least I get to keep all the top hats still." Jacob thought, not daring to say that out loud.
Eventually the twins made it to the letter shop. It was a plain looking shop and looked like it could even be a post office. Before entering, Evie gave Jacob a warning;
"Don't touch anything, don't get close to anything that's breakable, just stay still and let me handle it."
"Why don't I just not breathe Evie."
"If that keeps you from doing something stupid then do it."
Enter into the shop, Jacob saw it wasn't anything special. For the most part there were lockers of to the side and a counter with an employee in front of him. Before Jacob could say something, Evie walked ahead of him.
She started talking to the man about signing up and he explained how things would work; People would write to the twins and they would make money by answering back. The more people that write the more money they make. The shop would pay for expenses, allow them to use the lockers and would take a fee out from the money they made.
Once all the procedures were finished. Evie received a key to the locker and went back to Jacob so they could leave the store.
"Now what?" Jacob asked as Evie approached him.
"Now we head back to the train and wait." She told him.
And with that, the Frye twins left.
