He couldn't have known it would turn out like this, there wasn't a single sign. Even if Raivis had been able to tell the future, chances were he wouldn't have believed this to be able to happen in a million years.

Yet here he was, shaking like an earthquake and hiding behind a desk. The bitter taste of copper was dimly aknowledged in the back of his mind. If he had been thinking about it, Raivis would have realized he had bitten straight through his lip.

His mind was on a far more important fact at the moment, however.

The sound of footsteps passing by the room rang out through his mind, blanking out all thought for a moment before he realized they were walking right past. A small shudder escaped his lips as he screwed up his face further.

There really was nothing he could do, was there? He pressed his forehead against his knees, hugging them to his chest. A pair of silent tears made tracks down his face below his frantically blinking eyes.

He needed to escape, he needed to get away - oh, but he knew that there was no way out. All of the exits had been blocked off long ago, some even covered over with cement; what a brilliant idea /that/ had turned out to be, huh? He shook his head bitterly, curling into himself further.

"Raaaaaivis?"

A horrified whimper crept from his lips despite how hard he tried to stop it.

"Come on, Raivis! Why're you hiding?"

He swallowed thickly. He knew the other knew quite well why he was hiding, why was he taunting him like this? Raivis shook his head the slightest bit, before freezing. Did that make a noise? Oh god, could he hear that?

Raivis's heart seemed to skip a few beats as he creeeeaaak of the door opening reached his ears. No, no, no, he could almost scream - but of course, there was always that chance that he would just not notice him.

Just like there was a chance that he had forgotten Raivis existed. Just like there had been a chance that he didn't know where Latvia was, even. The same way there was a chance that he wouldn't be able to find Raivis's safehouse. The exact same way that there had been a chance he wouldn't be able to get inside.

It seemed luck wasn't really on Latvia's side, lately.

Tap, tap tap tap, tap, tap, taptap tap.

The erratic sound of the other's steps only enhanced the horrible feeling deep in Raivis's gut. This was wrong, it wasn't supposed to go this way, there was no way this was happening, this was just impossible - but no.

Then he saw it - a fireplace, directly behind the desk he was under. Sitting beside it, a fireplace poker. Raivis couldn't help but wonder, for but a moment, why there was such a frivilous thing as a fireplace in his safehouse, but was immediately struck with a much more significant thought.

His blood nearly froze.

Raivis honestly could have cried out loud, but that wouldn't have helped his case any. Instead, he reached delicately towards the poker, fingers and muscles straining.

A hand, smaller than his own, grasped his wrist.

"There you are!"

Blue eyes met violet.

"Raivis, I finally found you! I knew you were here, I knew it!" A giggle. "So, Latvia, won't you answer me...

"Become one with the Sealandic Empire?"

AN; I'm sorry I fail so bad. QQ
