This is a side piece to my other story which I have yet to post. The title will be False Eden, yet it might be subject to change.

Also, this follows the anime…yet I have taken many liberties of course.

Millie knew she was only a substitute for Mr. Priest's real love. Some one he couldn't ever have.

Yet, she didn't care, not that night. They had laid together and shared a moment of bliss.

The next day he had been killed, found kneeling with his cross. A burden even in death it seemed.

She felt guilt ridden now, but she couldn't even imagine how he must of felt knowing full well he was going to die. He had spent his lst night with her, when he could have shared it with another.

They both deserved love, yet now it was too late. Mr. Priest lay dead, and Mr. Vash had locked himself up in his hotel room.

Millie couldn't help but feel she had taken away something precious from the two men in her life. She loved Nicholas with all her heart, but her love had developed too late as well. He had already fallen in love with Vash the Stampede, and now he had just fallen.

Did he know that he was leaving two people that very much loved him?

She would miss him, yet there wasn't anything else she could do. she would just have to accept it an live on. They all would have to.

She wondered if his last breaths were filled with pain or happiness.

Millie hoped to heaven that he had suffered very little. He seemed jaded from suffering from a dark past already.

Did he think of her before he passed, or was he thinking of him?

It wasn't hard to miss the fact that he loved Mr. Vash, and his feelings were returned.

Yet, those two seemed oblivious to each others feelings. It was a shame really, so very pitiful.

Even Meryl could see that, but she still remained hopeful that Vash would return her own feelings. She pretended not to see what they shared for her own selfishness, just like Millie.

Did he realize that he was going to forever miss his chance with Mr.Vash?

Did he know he was going to leave a burden on his shoulders, on their shoulders?

Didn't he know?
