She woke up in a small white bed. Where was she? Who was she? The last thing she remembered was Diana and Meg running in, out of the rain. She pulled herself up, despite the major migraine pulsing in her head. She walked out into a hall, down the staircase, through another hall, and into a classroom. All of them were waiting for her there. Diana, Meg, Eleanor, Susan, Olivia, Amanda, and even Wendy. She could tell by the blue sky and the bright sun smiling through the window that it was about noon. "Greetings, Princess Jennifer," they all said simultaneously, almost robotically. "Oh, yeah. My name is Jennifer," she thought to herself. "But… I thought they hated me…" she recalled. "You saved us from the stray dog, princess! How could we ever repay you?" Amanda grunted. "Stray Dog?" Jennifer looked confused. "Yes! We almost died!" exclaimed Diana. But, just then…she remembered something that sent chills down her spine. She then remembered fighting stray dog, but also remembered all of them dying before she could get to them. So…how were they here before her at this very moment? "How could this possibly be…"Jennifer whispered. "Princess, are you alright? You seem pale. Do you need a glass of water, perhaps?" offered Meg, but just then, Jennifer collapsed, and fell into a dream.
"My name is Joshua. I will serve you princess…"
"You truly would do that?" a strange, distant voice asks.
"I would."
"Do you love the princess?" it questions.
"More than anything in the world."
"Would you let her take your life?" it asks.
"If it made her happy, I would."
"No!" Jennifer was in her warm bed again. Brown was at her side, looking at her with concern in his eyes. The concern melted away when she gave him a warm, comforting smile. At that moment, she realized that Wendy was sitting there, watching her. She also realized that Wendy was wearing a beautiful purple Sunday dress with a hat that looked similar to the one she normally wore in the garden, but with a purple ribbon around it. "It's almost time for the ceremony, Jennifer!" she said, handing Jennifer a silky blue dress like Wendy's.
They came to a room with a long red carpet and several candles alongside it. Eleanor and Meg guided Jennifer to a chair above everyone else, with the exception of Wendy, who was sitting beside her. Diana spoke. This month's gift is a four leaf clover. However, there has been a change. Whosoever fails to bring a gift, with the exception of the princess," she pulled down a sheet behind her," will be forced to leave this afterlife." Jennifer took in a sharp breath at the sight of what she had just uncovered. Bloody skeletons all lined up largest to smallest. From the way it looked, it seemed to be their skeletons. "I'm dead?!"
