He was born in the Era of the Good and Bad, the son of Athena to a human being.
He's a Demi-God. He used to be a nice, care-free and a faithful boy. What changed him was the continuous abuse of his father... because one wish can't come true. A want that was declined by the Demon himself.
One day, he got all mad and berserk killing his father mercilessly.
He was happy that the abuse stopped, but he missed his father. The guilt in his heart continues to eat him up.
Until one day, he wished he'll lose his emotions, he wished for power, and the Demon was happy to gave it to him.
Because of that wish, he loses his emotions... and because of it he gained a in-humane powers, the rejected creation of God, the destroyer of the world. Him, a Demi-God and a Half-Dragon/Demon.
He granted his own wish, creating a loop for his unstoppable strength and life.
Destroying the Era of the Good and Bad, bringing forth his own Era, he gave his own friends, an elemental power that can't be rivalled to his own.

Acnologia became the King of the Dragons and Igneel, his best friend, the right hand of Acnologia.

That's when the Dragons started to create or teach the human beings Dragon Slaying, to kill Acnologia and his Evil Spawns.

The Lucas Ikari they know, is dead. The Dragon, the friend they used to have knows his enemies and friends... he became a Dragon, that sees weaklings and traitors as preys.
