The Miko's Curse
'so it begins' thought Kagome as she took one last look around the shrine. A month before, she just came back to live with her family bringing Kirara and Shippo with her after the incident with kikyo, when she finally was able to not show the pain she felt from others. Only to come home to find her brother, Souta, and her grandpa dead and her mother minutes till death. Before her mother died though she was able to tell Kagome that she was adopted and to look in her closet to find out more. She could still remember when she first looked.
'Flashback'
As I let out the pain I felt from their death in one long painful scream, I started to feel numb. For once since Kikyo's curse on me I felt no pain. I felt numb, like I was in a blank void and couldn't escape. But at that moment I didn't want to escape. For I had felt enough pain and seen enough bloodshed to last ofr a lifetime. When I buried my family I came out of the void and cried. When I was crying I suddenly felt someone attach to my side. I looked down into to the eyes of Shippo to see them staring at me with worry and concern. " it's alright mama I'll protect you. I won't let you hurt anymore," said my son while puffing out his chest with a determined look on his face. I couldn't help smile a little at his cuteness. "I know you won't baby," I replied " I believe you." As I said this I picked him and kirara up and went to my room like my mother said.
"what are you doing mama," asked Shippo with a cute tilt of his head. "before my mom past away she told me I was adopted and to look in my closet for answers." I said as I opened my pink closet doors that I have known my whole life. I looked up on the top of the closet and saw an oak box with the name kagome on the side of it, that I haven't seen before. So, I lifted it off the self and carried it to my bed. As soon as I sat down shippo jumped up on my lap and Kirara sat at my side. After a minute I finally worked up enouhg courage to open the the beautifully engraved box. Inside of the box was aletter, a locket, a picture, and a baby blanket. I picked up my baby blanket to see that it had a strange design on the corner of it, that was a swirl of some kind. I ran my fingers over the silky material in awe put soon wrapped it around a now sleeping Shippo. I then picked the picture, that had a man and woman holding two babies.
