He knew what was coming. He could see things that other people couldn't see. He knew things other people didn't.
He was frantically running down the worn out metal walkways. Each time his foot slammed onto the metal, rust came out of it. How could they not listen? It was so obvious, but they didn't know?
He came to a halt, his lungs were begging for air. He looked behind him. The light had gone away visibly, but not mentally in his mind. He took a look down the railings. He could
see what were the remains of test chambers. He thought of jumping down - but no, he couldn't. He had to save himself and her.
There aren't any security cameras here. She couldn't be watching. The Core is now gone, I am safe. For now.
He then started running down the old walkways again, this time less frantically. The darkness around him was his fear. He didn't fear the darkness. He didn't know what could come out of it. He feared her.
When he came up to the room, he looked at the door before entering it.

This is it. This is how he could safe Chell. He gently placed the key into the door and unlocked it. He put his hand on the door handle, and... He couldn't open it. He knew what she would do to him if he let Chell go. He had to.
His hand relaxed, and he opened the door. There sat three monitors, three keyboards, and one chair. He sat in the empty chair, and got to work.
