One-shot, one-sided SakuxLee.

I don't own Naruto.

She was alone.

She sat there, under the large willow tree, playing with a lock of her pink here. Apple green eyes scanned the area, searching for someone to talk to, someone to hang out with, but she found no-one.

She knew who she was looking for. First, she had been looking for her loud, annoying blonde friend, but she knew he wasn't there. He was with Hinata. She smiled. Since they were little, Naruto had always had a crush on her, but slowly, it had gone away. True, he wasn't the smartest genin around, but he was cute, and he had a huge heart. He was perfect for Hinata. He and Hinata had started seeing each other a few weeks ago, and were turning out to be the perfect couple. It was strange, because they were so different. Hinata was quiet and shy, and was usually a follower, never a leader. Naruto on the other hand was loud and always spoke his mind, no matter what the circumstances. Opposites attract, she thought jealously. No, Sakura was not jealous of Hinata for getting Naruto, she was jealous that Hinata had actually stolen the heart of her crush. Unlike Sakura.

The second person she had looked for was Sasuke. Yes, Sasuke, the ninja who had left their little village in search of power. Sakura sighed, as she usually did whenever she thought of Sasuke. They had come so close to finding him, so close to seeing him again, but the Akatsuki had got there first. Sakura had always had a crush on Sasuke. Hell, almost every girl had a crush on Sasuke. Who could blame them? He was good-looking, intelligent, and powerful. Even though he was a jerk, girls still found themselves fascinated by him. The only Uchiha who had survived his clan's murder. The boy who had worked with Sakura and Naruto in Team 10. The boy who she had liked, but who never liked her.

Her thoughts went back to memories of Sasuke, and how she would always try to impress him, but ended up failing miserable. He had always referred to her as 'annoying' and had always turned her down when she asked him out to lunch, and she had always felt heartbroken whenever he rejected her. But she still kept on trying.

Something fell on her head, taking her out of her thoughts. She plucked the thing off her head. It was a leaf. Instantly, she thought of the chakra-less ninja who had once proclaimed his love for her during the chunnin exams. The sweet ninja who was obsessed with youthfulness, and who would always keep on going, no matter what went his way. Sakura smiled and spun the leaf in her hand. Rock Lee was probably the most decent ninja in the whole of Konoha. He was the kind of person you would see helping an elderly woman with her shopping bags, even if he was holding some of his own. She remembered how she had rejected him, and dubbed him 'thick brows'.

Sakura started comparing Sasuke to Lee. The ice cube and the leaf. Sasuke had always had power, unlike Lee, who was born chakra-less, and had had to train vigorously until he became stronger. Sasuke was always considered strong, cool, handsome, and Lee had to fight to be noticed. Sasuke would always reject people, while Lee was always the one to be rejected.

He was a kind ninja who put others before himself, and Sakura suddenly realised that she was the luckiest girl alive. And why was this? It was because she had Lee. She had him chasing after her. She had someone to turn to when things got rough, someone's shoulder to cry on, and she hadn't even realised it. Smiling to herself, she got up, tucked the leaf in her pocket, and walked around the streets of Konoha, looking for a certain boy with thick eyebrows.

Yes, I know, that probably sucked. Yes, it is rather short, but I like it. Review please, tell me what you think.
